Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF ARTS FOR ALL WISCONSIN, INC. IS TO EXPAND THE CAPABILITIES, CONFIDENCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES BY PROVIDING PROGRAMS IN DANCE, DRAMA, CREATIVE WRITING, MUSIC, AND VISUAL ART.
EXPAND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH THE ARTS.
ART CENTER - ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES AGES 16 AND UP EXPLORE THE CREATIVE ARTS THROUGH CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS IN VISUAL ART, MOVEMENT/DANCE, DRAMA AND MUSIC. CLASSES ARE TAUGHT BY PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTISTS. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 500 CLASS REGISTRATIONS ANNUALLY AT THE ART CENTER. MANY OF THE INDIVIDUALS WHO ENROLL IN AFTERNOON AND EVENING CLASSES AT THE ART CENTER LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY AND ARE SUPPORTED BY AREA SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES. MANY PARTICIPANTS ARE NONVERBAL AND/OR MAY HAVE MORE THAN ONE DISABILITY.THE ART CENTER PROGRAMS FILL A VOID FOR MANY INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WHO SEEK STRUCTURED ACTIVITIES TO COMPLEMENT THEIR HOME, SCHOOL, AND WORK LIFE. THE ART CENTER PROGRAMS ARE:-VETS' ART STUDIO: THE VETS' STUDIO WAS FORMED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MADISON VET CENTER AND IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR VETERANS WHO EXHIBIT MENTAL, EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISABILITIES AS A RESULT OF STRESS OR TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCES WHILE IN SERVICE. VETS' ART STUDIO PROGRAMS INCLUDE VISUAL ARTS AND CREATIVE WRITING. -ART CENTER CLASSES: WE OFFER APPROXIMATELY 40 UNIQUE CLASSES IN MUSIC (SINGING, DRUMMING AND PERCUSSION), IMPROVISATIONAL DRAMA, MOVEMENT, AND VISUAL ART (DRAWING, PAINTING, WATERCOLORS, PRINTMAKING, PAPERMAKING, PHOTOGRAPHY, CERAMICS, CLAY SCULPTURE, PAPER MACHE, TEXTILES, WEAVING, MOSAICS, OR OTHER MULTI-MEDIA APPROACHES). WE OFFER TWO 10-WEEK SESSIONS AND THREE 7-WEEK SESSIONS A YEAR. SUMMER SESSIONS IN FY20 WERE CANCELED DUE TO COVID19.
TRAINING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & OUTREACH-STAFF AND TEACHING ARTISTS PRESENT WORKSHOPS ON UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR LEARNING, OUTCOMES-BASED PROGRAM PLANNING AND EVALUATION AND BEST PRACTICES IN ARTS EDUCATION.
ARTIST RESIDENCY - ARTS FOR ALL WISCONSIN, INC. CONDUCTS EARLY CHILDHOOD, SCHOOL-BASED AND COMMUNITY-BASED RESIDENCIES. ALL ARTIST RESIDENCIES BETWEEN MARCH AND JUNE 2020 WERE CANCELED DUE TO COVID19 CONCERNS. EARLY CHILDHOOD RESIDENCIES USE THE ARTS TO ENHANCE EARLY LITERACY SKILLS, LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT SUCH AS PRINT AWARENESS, PHONOLOGICAL AWARENESS AND STORY SEQUENCE AS WELL AS SOCIAL COMPETENCE.SCHOOL-BASED ARTIST RESIDENCIES FOSTER CREATIVITY, ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AND ACHIEVEMENT. STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS ENGAGE IN HANDS-ON, INTERACTIVE ARTS PROGRAMMING LED BY PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTISTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS OF VARYING ABILITY LEVELS. ARTIST RESIDENCIES ARE AVAILABLE IN ALL ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES, INCLUDING VISUAL ART, MOVEMENT, MUSIC, DRAMA, AND CREATIVE WRITING. STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES: INCREASED KNOWLEDGE OF ARTISTIC DISCIPLINE AND SUCCESSFUL APPLICATION OF SKILLS; INCREASED MOTIVATION AND ENGAGEMENT IN ARTS ACTIVITIES AND OTHER CORE LEARNING AREAS; IMPROVED SELF-ESTEEM AND SELF-CONFIDENCE; IMPROVED INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION AND SOCIALIZATION SKILLS.COMMUNITY-BASED ARTIST RESIDENCIES FOSTER CREATIVITY, ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AND SELF CONFIDENCE IN ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES. PARTICIPANTS ENGAGE IN HANDS-ON, INTERACTIVE ARTS PROGRAMMING LED BY PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ARTISTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS OF VARYING ABILITY LEVELS.
