Organizations Filed Purposes:
PROMOTE FINANCIAL EDUCATION AND WEALTH-BUILDING STRATEGIES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF LOW-INCOME YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND COMMUNITIES.
THE FINANCIAL AND INVESTMENT CHALLENGE BOWL (FICB) TEACHES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT BUDGETING, CREDIT, ECONOMICS, PERSONAL FINANCE, AND INVESTING. STUDENTS FORM TEAMS OF FOUR STUDENTS EACH, STUDY, PRACTICE, AND EVENTUALLY COMPETE IN A COLLEGE-BOWL TOURNAMENT THAT SHOWCASES THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND ACHIEVEMENTS IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF FRIENDLY COMPETITION. APPROXIMATELY 900 STUDENTS COMPETE EACH YEAR.
THE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY EDUCATION PROGRAM (PREP) IS A SERIES OF FINANCIAL LITERACY CLASSES OFFERED AS DIRECT EDUCATION TO LOW-INCOME "AT RISK" STUDENTS. THROUGH PREP, WE TEACH AT LEAST 600 STUDENTS EACH YEAR.
GO4IT TEACHES YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND RELATED FINANCIAL LITERACY SKILLS. WE CONDUCT SEVERAL PROGRAMMING COMPONENTS, INCLUDING FULL-DAY COMMUNITY-FACING SUMMITS (HELD TWICE A YEAR WITH ATTENDANCE AVERAGING 125 PER SUMMIT), SATURDAY ROUND-TABLES FOCUSING ON VARIOUS TOPICS OF INTEREST TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS, AND SATURDAY CLASSES AT THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF MILWAUKEE.
