DONATE LIFE WI INCREASES AWARENESS OF THE NEED FOR ORGAN, TISSUE AND CORNEAL TRANSPLANTS AND MOTIVATES PEOPLE TO REGISTER AS ORGAN, TISSUE AND EYE DONORS THROUGH OUTREACH EDUCATION, ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS AND ADVOCACY.

IN 2019, THE ORGANIZATION'S STATE-WIDE, MULTI-CHANNEL (MOBILE, DIGITAL, TRANSIT, OUTDOOR AND RADIO) AND MULTI-CULTURAL MARKETING CAMPAIGN ENCOURAGING REGISTRATION ON WISCONSIN'S DONOR REGISTRY RESULTED IN AN INCREASE OF OVER 13,000 REGISTERED DONORS. SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT INCREASED TO OVER 6,000 FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS AND THE NUMBER OF VISITORS TO THE DONATE LIFE WISCONSIN (DLW) SITE INCREASED BY 120% TO 65,159 SESSIONS (UP FROM 29,550 IN 2018) AND 90% OF THE USERS WERE NEW TO THE SITE. ON APRIL 1, NEARLY 80 HOSPITALS PARTICIPATED IN THE STATE-WIDE SECOND ANNUAL PAUSE TO GIVE LIFE FLAG-RAISING EVENT KICKING OFF NATIONAL DONATE LIFE MONTH. THIS EVENT ACHIEVED EXTENSIVE MEDIA COVERAGE AND A MEASURABLE LIFT IN DONOR REGISTRATIONS (OVER 800 ONLINE AND 58,000 AT DMVS THAT MONTH ALONE). THE ORGANIZATION WAS PROUD TO RECEIVE ONE OF TEN DONATE LIFE AMERICA PINNACLE AWARDS, THE BEST REMIX, FOR THE 2018 EVENT LAUNCH AND IT'S EASY REPLICABILITY. IN 2020, FOUR OTHER STATES ARE IMPLEMENTING THIS EVENT! THE NEW TEEN ORGAN DONATION EDUCATION VIDEO AND COMPANION WORKBOOKS IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH FOR TEEN DRIVER AND YOUTH EDUCATION WERE FAVORABLY RECEIVED FOLLOWING THE APRIL 2019 LAUNCH. THE TEEN VIDEO PROJECT WAS FUNDED BY GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS OF WISCONSIN CITIZENS AS PART OF THE $2 DONATION AT DMVS TO THE ORGAN DONATION EDUCATION FUND. AN ESTIMATED 65,000 STUDENTS VIEWED THE VIDEO BETWEEN APRIL AND DECEMBER 2019 THAT INCLUDED DISTRIBUTION OF OVER 1,700 VIDEO DOWNLOADS, NEARLY 200 FREE DVDS, OVER 700 FREE WORKBOOKS SHIPPED AND NEARLY 200 WORKBOOK DOWNLOADS. DATA ANALYSIS NOTED AN INCREMENTAL INCREASE OF 20% IN TEEN DONOR REGISTRATIONS AT THE DMV IN 2019. DLW'S IMPORTANT PARTNERS AT THE DMV (WHERE 98% OF WISCONSINITES REGISTER AS DONORS) WERE RECOGNIZED DURING NATIONAL DMV APPRECIATION WEEK, SEPTEMBER 23-27, 2019, WITH A LETTER OF APPRECIATION FROM THE DLW PRESIDENT, REGISTRATION DESK POSTER, CERTIFICATE AND A SMALL GIFT FOR EACH EMPLOYEE. MORE IMPORTANTLY, NEARLY 500 PERSONALIZED THANK YOU NOTES WERE DELIVERED TO DMV EMPLOYEES BY DLW MEMBERS, MEMBER VOLUNTEERS, ORGAN AND TISSUE RECIPIENTS AND DONOR FAMILY MEMBERS DURING THIS SPECIAL WEEK.
