ERI PRACTICES AND PROMOTES INNOVATIVE SERVICES THAT ADVANCE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, SUPPORT PERSONAL CHOICES, AND ENHANCE THE WELL-BEING OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ACROSS WISCONSIN.
EMPLOYMENT RESOURCES, INC. (ERI) PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT AND BENEFITS COUNSELING, AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO ARE CONSIDERING OR PURSUING EMPLOYMENT. ERI ALSO OFFERS STATEWIDE CONSULTATION, TRAINING, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO EMPLOYERS, HUMAN SERVICE PROFESSIONALS, DISABILITY ADVOCATES, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND THE PUBLIC REGARDING DISABILITY AND EMPLOYMENT ISSUES.
ERI PROVIDES DIRECT CLIENT SERVICES RELATED TO BENEFITS COUNSELING, EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING AND PRE-DRIVING ASSESSMENTS. SPECIFIC FUNDERS OF THESE SERVICES, MOST OF WHICH ARE PAID ON A FEE-FOR-SERVICE BASIS INCLUDE COLUMBIA AND DANE COUNTY AS A PROVIDER OF COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY SERVICES (CCS) FOR PEOPLE WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS; DANE COUNTY FOR COMMUNITY BENEFITS SERVICES (CBS) WHICH ARE TO ASSIST PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS TO ACCESS PUBLIC BENEFITS AND THE VOCATIONAL FUTURES PLANNING SERVICES (VFPS) WITH A FOCUS ON YOUTH WITH INTELLECTUAL/DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN ACHIEVING EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES; BENEFITS AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FUNDED BY DIVISION OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION AND LONG-TERM CARE INCLUDING FAMILY CARE AND IRIS; AND MARYLAND PROMOTING OPPORTUNITY (POD) PROJECT.
ERI WORKED WITH MULTIPLE PROJECTS FOCUSED ON CAPACITY BUILDING AND INNOVATION, AS WELL AS TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. THIS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING: A CUSTOMIZED EMPLOYMENT CAPACITY BUILDING PROJECT FUNDED BY DVR; THE WISCONSIN PROMISE (PROMOTING READINESS OF MINORS IN SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME) EFFORTS WITH YOUTH TO INCLUDE OUTREACH, EVALUATION AND SOFT-SKILLS TRAINING; MARYLAND PROMISE AND TRAINING/OUTREACH EFFORTS THROUGH GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY; SEVERAL NATIONAL PROJECTS RELATED TO THE WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) INCLUDING THE EDUCATE, EMPOWER EMPLOY WITHIN TARGETED COMMUNITIES (E3TC) AND (PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE (PEQA) GRANTS AND EFFORTS WITH WYOMING AND SAN DIEGO UNIVERSITY. OTHER TRAINING EFFORTS WITH PARTNERS SUCH AS TRANSCEN AND THE BOARD FOR PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.
THE WORK INCENTIVES PLANNING & ASSISTANCE (WIPA) PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY A GRANT FROM THE SSA. ERI IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WIPA SERVICES IN WISCONSIN. ERI HAS 1 SUBCONTRACTED PARTNER: INDEPENDENCEFIRST IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN. THE WIPA PROGRAM PROVIDES PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES INFORMATION ABOUT HOW EARNINGS FROM WORK WILL AFFECT THEIR BENEFITS. PEOPLE ARE THEN ABLE TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS ABOUT WORK BASED ON ACCURATE AND TIMELY INFORMATION. THE WIPA PROGRAM PROVIDES SERVICES TO OVER 300 BENEFICIARIES ANNUALLY.
