IN 2019, PCNA DEVELOPED AND PRESENTED ITS 25TH ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM IN ST.PAUL, MINNESOTA. THIS 2-1/2 DAY, INTENSIVE CONTINUING EDUCATION EVEN INCLUDED PARTICIPANTS FROM ACROSS THE GLOBE. IN ADDITION TO THE PHARMACOLOGY PRECONFERENCE AND GENERAL EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS, THIS PROGRAM OFFERED PARTICIPANTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN SKILL BUILDING, A VIRTUAL LOBBY DAY, AN INTERACTIVE POSTER SESSION AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES THAT FOSTERED COLLEGIAL NETWORKING.
ANNUAL PROJECTS - EDUCATIONAL TOOLS AND PROGRAMS - PCNA DEVELOPED SEVERAL CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND CLINICAL TOOLS FOR USE BY HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS AND PATIENTS. MEMBERS ATTENDED LOCAL, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS EXPANDED ONLINE, ON-DEMAND PROGRAMS AND WEBINARS. SEVERAL THOUSAND PRINT AND ELECTRONIC PCNA PATIENT EDUCATION TOOLS WERE ORDERED, REACHING THOUSANDS OF PATIENTS AROUND THE WORLD. TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE: HEART FAILURE, LIPID MANAGEMENT, ATRIAL FIBRILLATION, CARDIOMETABOLIC RISK MANAGEMENT, STROKE PREVENTION, DIABETES AND HEART DISEASE, VTE BLOOD CLOTS, LIFESTYLE, BEHAVIOR CHANGE AND ACCESS TO INNOVATIVE MEDICINES.
MEMBERSHIP AND OTHER SERVICES - PCNA IS THE LEADING NURSING ORGANIZATION FOR COMPREHENSIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES IN CARDIOVASCULAR NURSING. LEAD BY A 15-MEMBER BOARD, PCNA SUPPORTS OVER 55,000 HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS AND HAS ALMOST 1,400 MEMBERS, 29 CHAPTERS ACROSS THE US. PCNA MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES FREE CLINICAL AND PATIENT EDUCATION RESOURCES, AN ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION TO THE JOURNAL OF CARDIOVASCULAR NURSING, AND ACCESS TO ITS ONLINE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY.
