POLICY AND ADVOCACY - RIVER ALLIANCE WORKS WITH LOCAL AND REGIONAL GROUPS AND STATEWIDE PARTNERS TO ADVOCATE FOR CLEAN, FREE FLOWING AND ACCESSIBLE WATER FOR ALL. WE ADVOCATE DIRECTLY WITH THE PUBLIC THROUGH COMMUNICATIONS AND EVENTS TO ENCOURAGE ENGAGEMENT ON ISSUES AND LEGISLATION AS IT MOVES THROUGH THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS. WE ADDITIONALLY BUILD THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL ADVOCATES, WATERSHED GROUPS, BUSINESS LEADERS AND FARMERS TO ADVOCATE FOR AND TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT WISCONSIN WATERS. THIS WORK INCLUDES TRAINING AND SUPPORTING CITIZENS AND WATERSHED PROTECTION GROUPS WITH, AMONG OTHER THINGS, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN FUNDRAISING, COMMUNICATIONS AND OTHER STRATEGIES FOR POLICY REFORM AND BOARD AND MEMBER DEVELOPMENT.

AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES - RIVER ALLIANCE CONTINUED OUR WORK TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES BY EDUCATING CITIZENS ON HOW TO IDENTIFY, REPORT AND REMOVE INVASIVE SPECIES. WE HOSTED OUR ANNUAL AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES SNAPSHOT DAY, WHICH BROUGHT OUT OVER ONE HUNDRED CITIZENS TO INSPECT STREAM CROSSINGS FOR INVASIVES.

CLEAN WATER FARMS - RIVER ALLIANCE'S CLEAR WATER FARMS PROGRAM IS ENGAGING DAIRY PRODUCERS AND PROCESSORS IN NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN AROUND WATER STEWARDSHIP. THIS PROGRAM SEEKS TO CERTIFY FARMS THAT UPHOLD STRONG WATER PROTECTION PRACTICES.
