TO BE AN ADVOCATE FOR MEMBERS, FACILITATING RELATIONSHIPS WHICH EDUCATE, SUPPORT AND PROMOTE THE FACTORY-BUILT HOUSING INDUSTRY.
1. FOSTER COOPERATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE FACTORY-BUILT HOUSING INDUSTRY AND ADDRESS COOPERATIVELY THE PROBLEMS OF THE INDUSTRY; 2. PROMOTE THE ADVANCEMENT OF LAWFUL AND FAIR TRADE PRACTICES, CUSTOMS, AND USAGES TO THE INDUSTRY; 3. PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVED STANDARDS FOR THE PRODUCTS OF THE INDUSTRY AND TO ASSIST MEMBERS IN COMPLYING WITH GOVERNMENTAL REGULATIONS AFFECTING THE INDUSTRY; 4. PROMOTE THE PRODUCTS OF THE INDUSTRY, INCLUDING THE CONDUCT OF TRADE PROMOTION, ADVERTISING, AND PUBLIC RELATIONS ACTIVITIES AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS; 5. ADVISE AND EDUCATE THE MEMBERS OF FEDERAL, STATE, AND MUNICIPAL LAWS CONCERNING THE INDUSTRY; 6. STUDY AND RECOMMEND THE ENACTMENT OF LEGISLATION IN THE INTEREST OF THE INDUSTRY, REPRESENT THE INDUSTRY BEFORE PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND PUBLIC AUTHORITIES, AND ADVISE AND EDUCATE PUBLIC OFFICIALS ABOUT THE INDUSTRY; 7. PROMOTE CLOSE COORDINATION AND COOPERATION AMONG THOSE ENGAGED IN THE INDUSTRY; AND 8. CARRY OUT THOSE ACTIVITIES.
THE ANNUAL CONVENTION PROVIDES AN ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING AND EDUCATES THE MEMBERS ON CURRENT INDUSTRY TRENDS, LEGISLATIVE EVENTS AFFECTING THE INDUSTRY, AND STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS THAT AFFECT THEM. THE 2019 ANNUAL CONVENTION WAS ATTENDED BY 132 MEMBERS.
MANUFACTURED HOME INSTALLATION TRAINING SEMINARS WERE HELD TO ASSIST MEMBERS COMPLY WITH STATE AND FEDERAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR HOME INSTALLATION. THE 2019 SEMINARS, WHICH INCLUDED SOME ON-LINE TRAINING SESSIONS, WERE ATTENDED BY 96 MEMBERS.
LANDLORD RESIDENT TRAINING AND RETAIL SALES IS HELD PERIODICALLY TO KEEP OWNERS AND MANAGERS OF MANUFACTURED HOME COMMUNITIES AND SALES PEOPLE UP TO DATE ON THE STATE AND FEDERAL LAWS AFFECTING THE MANAGEMENT AND SALES, INCLUDING FEDERAL FAIR HOUSING ISSUES, HOME INSTALLATION LICENSING AND LAWS, EVICTION PREVENTION, AND TENANT SCREENING. THE 2019 SESSIONS WERE ATTENDED BY 199 MEMBERS.
