Organizations Filed Purposes:
WLCV is dedicated to electing conservation leaders, holding decision makers accountable, and encouraging lawmakers to champion conservation policies that protect Wisconsin's natural resources and public health
WLCV protects natural resources and public health by working in the Wisconsin Legislature to pass proactive conservation policy and to stop policies that damage our air, land, and water. In 2017 WLCV worked with partner organizations to pass the Leading on Lead bill in the state legislature, which helps families replace lead water pipes, and pass the Well Compensation bill, which helps families replace manure-contaminated wells and septic systems. In addition, WLCV organized the submission of over 600 comments to the Natural Resources Board to strengthen state rules to keep manure out of Wisconsin families' drinking water in sensitive areas like Kewaunee County. WLCV also fought the expansion of sulfide mining by opposing the Industrial Acid Mining bill, and we sought to limit the rollback of environmental protections on behalf of the Foxconn development in southeastern Wisconsin.
