UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY ENVISIONS A COMMUNITY WHERE ALL PEOPLE ACHIEVE THEIR HUMAN POTENTIAL THROUGH EDUCATION, FINANCIAL WELL-BEING, AND HEALTHY LIVES. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH VOLUNTEER AND RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, PARTNERSHIP BUILDING, AND ADVOCACY.

WE ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH VOLUNTEER AND RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, PARTNERSHIP BUILDING, AND ADVOCACY.ANALYSIS OF LOCAL DATA AND COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS TAUGHT US THAT SIGNIFICANT GAPS EXISTS AROUND FOUR CRITICAL SOCIAL ISSUES, AND WHEN IGNORED OR UNDER RESOURCED, HAS NEGATIVE IMPLICATIONS FOR A GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE. AS A RESULT, UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOTED TO ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING COMPLEX COUNTY-WIDE CONCERNS USING AN ISSUE-FOCUSED BUSINESS MODEL: VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT, YOUTH SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL WELL BEING, BASIC NEEDS, AND EARLY CONNECTIONS AND LITERACY.
UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY PROVIDES PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT ARE DESIGNED TO CONNECT PEOPLE TO RESOURCES AND SUPPORTS AROUND EDUCATION, FINANCIAL WELL-BEING, AND HEALTH - THE PILLARS OF A GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE. OUR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES INCLUDE 211, A HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES RESOURCE INFORMATION DATABASE; FAMILYWIZE, A PRESCRIPTION DISCOUNT SAVINGS PROGRAM; BORN LEARNING TRAILS, PUBLIC TRIALS THAT SUPPORT EARLY EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGE IN-THE-MOMENT LEARNING; AND MYFREE TAXES, A FREE ONLINE TAX FILING PROGRAM FOR LOW TO MODERATE - INCOME HOUSEHOLDS.
UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY'S VOLUNTEER CONNECTION CENTER SERVES AS A CENTRAL HUB FOR VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT. INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS, AND BUSINESSES CAN ACCESS AND UTILIZE OUR VOLUNTEER CENTER TO CONNECT WITH AND BUILD CAPACITY FOR LOCAL NONPROFITS THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. ADDITIONALLY, UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY PROVIDES VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT CONSULTATION TO LOCAL NONPROFITS, AND WE PARTNER WITH BUSINESS LOOKING TO GROWTHEIR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY GOALS.
UNITED WAY MANITOWOC COUNTY INVESTS IN FOUR COMMUNITY PRIORITIES BY CREATING SHARED LEARNING AND COMMUNITY BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES WITH LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE CAPACITY AROUND CRITICAL SOCIAL PROBLEMS. UNITED WAY ALONG WITH THEIR PARTNERS TACKEL THESE COMPLEX PROBLEMS THROUGH RELATIONSHIP BUILDING AND STRATEGIC CONVERSATION IN ORDER TO DEVELOP ACTION PLANS THAT WILL ADDRESS PROBLEMS AT THEIR ROOT AND CREATE SYSTEMATIC CHANGE.
