HAS A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES IN EACH OF ITS 27 RETAIL STORES/TRAINING CENTERS THAT PARTNERS WITH SCHOOLS AND AGENCIES THROUGHOUT OUR 35-COUNTY SERVICE DELIVERY AREA TO PROVIDE WORK EXPERIENCE AND JOB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. IN 2019, THIS PROGRAM SERVED 660 INDIVIDUALS, WHO RECEIVED A TOTAL OF 131,550 HOURS OF SUPERVISED WORK EXPERIENCE. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION HELPS PEOPLE IN NEED THROUGH ITS GOODNEIGHBOR INITIATIVE. GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTH CENTRAL WISCONSIN, INC. PARTNERS WITH LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICES AGENCIES THAT DISTRIBUTE GOODWILL NWC'S STORE VOUCHERS TO PEOPLE IN NEED OF EMERGENCY CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. IN 2019, THIS VOUCHER PROGRAM PROVIDED $641,073 IN FREE MERCHANDISE TO 22,084 PEOPLE THROUGHOUT GOODWILL NCW'S 35-COUNTY REGION.
IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES WERE OFFERED DURING 2019:ALMOST HOME: WORKS WITH CURRENT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOMEOWNERS TO REMAIN SUCCESSFUL IN THEIR HOME OWNERSHIP AND HELPS APPLICANTS IMPROVE THEIR STATUS FOR ELIGIBILITY (169 SERVED IN 2019).CIRCLES OF CARE: PROVIDES SUPPORT TO TEAM MEMBERS AND PAID PARTICIPANTS VIA FINANCIAL COUNSELING, HEALTH & WELLNESS COACHING AS WELL AS SPIRITUAL SUPPORT (1,508 SERVED IN 2019).CIRCLES OF SUPPORT: ASSISTS MEN AND WOMEN MAKING A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION FROM INCARCERATION TO LIFE IN A COMMUNITY, USING A NETWORK OF LOCAL VOLUNTEERS TO PROVIDE GUIDANCE, MENTORING AND DIRECTION TO EX-OFFENDERS (133 SERVED IN 2019).LGBT PARTNERSHIP: PROVIDES SAFE SPACE WHERE YOUTHS AND ADULTS CAN FEEL SUPPORTED AND UNDERSTOOD, MAKE FRIENDS, LEARN HEALTHY LIFE CHOICES, DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS, FEEL VALUED AND RESPECTED AND TALK AND BE HEARD (554 SERVED IN 2019).MIRACLE LEAGUE FOX VALLLEY: GIVES CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AGES 4-19 THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY BASEBALL IN AN ORGANIZED, NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUE ON A SAFE, ACCESSIBLE BASEBALL FIELD (203 SERVED IN 2019).MIRACLE LEAGUE LAKESHORE: GIVES CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AGES 4-19 THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY BASEBALL IN AN ORGANIZED, NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUE ON A SAFE, ACCESSIBLE BASEBALL FIELD (117 SERVED IN 2019).MIRACLE LEAGUE CHIPPEWA VALLEY: GIVES CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AGES 4-19 THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY BASEBALL IN AN ORGANIZED, NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUE ON A SAFE, ACCESSIBLE BASEBALL FIELD (125 SERVED IN 2019).NEIGHBORCARE AND NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERS: HELPS COMMUNITY NEIGHBORHOODS IDENTIFY AND LEVERAGE THEIR STRENGTHS TO MEET THE CHALLENGE OF ISOLATION AND LONELINESS OF ADULTS 60 YEARS OR OLDER.
