Holton Street Clinic's mission is to provide specialized healthcare to all populations, with actual or perceived sexually transmitted diseases, through consultation, testing, treatment and follow-up, with compassion and understanding in a respectful and confidential manner.
Holton Street Clinic administered 1595 HIV tests in 2019. The Clinic also expanded its services to clients wishing to access pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV. Additional nursing staff was hired and an increase in preventive education was implemented. Syphilis testing continues to be a critical need in Milwaukee County. In 2019 Holton Street identified 16 new syphilis cases. Holton Street Clinic continued its partnership with Diverse & Resilient throughout 2019 whereby full STD Screenings are completed by Holton Street Staff at Diverse & Resilient 2 days per week. The Clinic contiues to offer screening and treatment for as many high-risk persons as possible through this partnership program. In addition to testing for HIV, Holton Street Clinic provides testing and treatment for a full range of sexually transmitted infections including syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichamoniasis and micoplasma genitalium.
