Organizations Filed Purposes: PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES THAT WILL STRENGTHEN FAMILIES, CHILDREN, AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE LIFE CYCLE WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THEIR UNIQUE NEEDS AND TRADITIONS.

SINCE 1867, JEWISH FAMILY SERVICES (JFS) HAS PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE SOCIAL SERVICES FOR THE MILWAUKEE AREA JEWISH AND GENERAL COMMUNITY. THE MISSION OF JEWISH FAMILY SERVICES IS TO PROVIDE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES THAT WILL STRENGTHEN FAMILIES, CHILDREN AND INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT THE LIFE CYCLE WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THEIR UNIQUE NEEDS AND TRADITIONS. THE JFS VISION STATEMENT STATES THAT THE AGENCY WILL BE THE RECOGNIZED RESOURCE FOR HIGH QUALITY SERVICES THAT ENHANCE THE LIVES OF ALL WE SERVE. WE WILL ENABLE OUR CLIENTS TO ADAPT TO CHANGE, REACH THEIR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL AND LEAD FULFILLED LIVES. FOR 153 YEARS, OUR FOCUS HAS BEEN ON HELPING FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS, REGARDLESS OF RACE, RELIGION, LIFESTYLE OR INCOME. THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF OUR INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE DONORS, FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDS AND SUPPORT RECEIVED FROM THE UNITED WAY AND THE MILWAUKEE JEWISH FEDERATION, JFS SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE ON A SLIDING-FEE SCALE TO ANYONE IN NEED, REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY.

COUNSELING AND CLINICAL - SERVING 902 INDIVIDUALS THIS YEAR, OUR CLINICAL AND COUNSELING PROGRAM PROVIDED A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. SERVICES WERE DESIGNED FOR BOTH THE PERSON IN NEED OF MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT, AND FOR FAMILY MEMBERS COPING WITH A FAMILY MEMBER THAT HAS A MENTAL ILLNESS. THE AGENCY RECEIVED PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENT GRANTS OF $304,467 THIS YEAR TO SUPPORT THE PROGRAM.

NON-CLINICAL - THE AGENCY HAS DEVELOPED A RANGE OF SERVICES TO SUPPORT OLDER ADULTS INCLUDING CARE MANAGEMENT, MEDICAL MANAGEMENT, SOCIAL SERVICES, EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, AND LATE LIFE COUNSELING FOR OLDER ADULTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. THE AGENCY ALSO HAS A COMPREHENSIVE ARRAY OF SERVICES FOR OUR CLIENTS WITH DISABILITIES INCLUDING ASSESSMENT AND CASE MANAGEMENT, SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES, REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE AND CONSERVATORSHIP, GUARDIANSHIP AND ADVOCACY, SOCIALIZATION ACTIVITIES AND CONNECTION TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES, AND INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY-BASED HOUSING. 1,211 OLDER ADULTS RECEIVED SERVICES THROUGH THE AGENCY'S CASE MANAGEMENT ADULT PROGRAM THIS YEAR. 443 NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING REFUGEES FROM THE FORMER SOVIET UNION RECEIVED CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES THIS YEAR. 39 ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES RECEIVED SERVICES THROUGH THE AGENCY'S DISABILITIES CASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM THIS YEAR. THE AGENCY RECEIVED PRIVATE AND GOVERNMENT GRANTS OF $2,624,730 THIS YEAR TO SUPPORT THE PROGRAM.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMMING IS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT INCREASE THE COMMUNITY'S AWARENESS OF ISSUES RELATED TO MENTAL HEALTH AND MENTAL ILLNESS, SEXUAL ASSAULT AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION, AND THE INCREASED RISK OF BREAST CANCER IN THE ASHKENAZI JEWISH COMMUNITY. PROGRAMS WERE OFFERED AT NO CHARGE TO PARTICIPANTS.
