POVERTY SUMMIT - SDC'S SUMMIT ON POVERTY FOCUSED ON DISMANTLING SYSTEMS OF POVERTY PROVIDING MORE THAN 55 POWERFUL WORKSHOPS FOR PARTICIPANTS. OVER THE COURSE OF THE CONFERENCE, PARTICIPANTS EXPLORED THE SHARED EXPERIENCE OF POVERTY AND THE INTERCONNECTED ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL LIVES OF RURAL AND URBAN WISCONSINITES. OUR SPEAKERS AND WORKSHOP PRESENTERS ENLIGHTENED ATTENDEES ABOUT RURAL AND URBAN POVERTY AS THEY SHARED STORIES AND TALKED ABOUT SOLUTIONS. THE SESSIONS WERE POWERFUL AND EDUCATIONAL. PARTICIPANTS WERE CHALLENGED TO EXAMINE THE NATIONAL, REGIONAL AND LOCAL SYSTEMS AT PLAY AND CONSIDER HOW THEIR NARRATIVES SHAPE POLICY AND OUR COLLECTIVE RESPONSE.
