The Mount Horeb Area Historical Society collects and preserves local artifacts and archival. Provides education on local history.
The Mount Horeb Area Historical Society creates, promotes, and provides ongoing support for Museum exhibits. The Museum hosted approximately 3,600 visitors in 2015. New exhibits included "Stories in Stitches: Quilts of Southwestern Dane County" and "Ethnicity and the Civil War". A new exhibit titled "Natural Wonders and Human Interaction" opened in May 2013 and replace the current quilt exhibit. In addition, the Society operates a small gift shop. Educational prgrams for children are a growing service of the Society
The Mount Horeb Area Historical Society collects and preserves local historical artifacts and archive material, maintains a database of items in its collections, and disseminates information to the public via assistance with research and through programs and the publishing of books and articles. The society receives approximately five requests per week for information related to items in its archive.
The Mount Horeb Area Historical Society publishes a newsletter three or four times per year. The newsletter is distributed to approximately 225 members. Additional copies of the newsletter are avaliable to visitors to the museum, the community, and other potential memebers.
