THE MISSION OF NEENAH-MENASHA EMERGENCY SOCIETY IS TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY RESOURCES TO SUPPORT RESIDENTS OF THE NEENAH-MENASHA AREA WHO ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE FOR THEIR CORE NEEDS.
PROVIDE EMERGENCY RESOURCES TO NEENAH-MENASHA AREA RESIDENTS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN CORE NEEDS
BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR PROGRAM -- PROVIDED 799 CHILDREN WITH CERTIFICATES REDEEMABLE FOR SHOES AND BOOTS DURING THE BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR. PROVIDED 950 STUDENTS IN NEED IN THE NEENAH AND MENASHA SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITH BACKPACKS FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AS WELL AS BOOKS AND GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR CLOTHING.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM -- PROVIDED EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO 47 FAMILIES CONSISTING OF 136 INDIVIDUALS IN THE NEENAH/MENASHA AREA TO MEET CORE NEEDS - PRIMARILY TO HELP THEM AVOID HOMELESSNESS BY ASSISTING WITH RENT AND UTILITIES.
CARING FOR KIDS PROGRAM -- PROVIDED WINTER OUTERWEAR SUCH AS SNOWPANTS, BOOTS, AND COATS TO 140 STUDENTS IN THE NEENAH AND MENASHA SCHOOL DISTRICTS. IN ADDITION TO WINTER ESSENTIALS, NMES RECENTLY EXPANDED OUR CARING FOR KIDS PROGRAM TO INCLUDE PROVIDING FOR THE CORE NEEDS OF STUDENTS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS AND OTHER CHALLENGES RELATED TO POVERTY. NMES WAS ABLE TO SET UP "CLOSETS" IN SEVERAL SCHOOLS THAT PROVIDE BACKPACKS AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES, HYGIENE KITS (TOOTHBRUSHES, TOOTHPASTE, DEODORANT, WIPES, FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS, DIAPERS), AND BASIC CLOTHING, SERVING APPROXIMATELY 330 STUDENTS THIS YEAR.
