We help those affected by poverty improve their circumstances and become self-sufficient. We operate a homeless shelter for overnight occupancy from 11/1 to 4/30 each year. Our community works together to meet the needs of those living in poverty and offers a structured opportunity to gain self-sufficiency, and to have a hope for a better future.
We help those affected by poverty improve their circumstances and become self-sufficient. We operate a homeless shelter for overnight occupancy from 11/1 to 4/30 each year.
SAM25 operates SAMs House Emergency Shelter open 11/1 - 4/30 each year. SAMs House provides shelter, three meals and clothing to our guests. 2,224 nights of stay were provided to 88 people 66 adults and 22 children this past season. We also started a weekly resource day where anyone in the community can stop in to get help with jobs, housing, hygiene items, clothing or take a shower. We provided 155 resource contacts to 88 individuals throughout the year in this program. 6,631 meals were served by community members at an estimated cost of 3.54 per meal for a total in-kind amount of 23,448.
SAM25 also provides a curriculum for people who are working to get ahead of the cycle of poverty. Last year, this program was offered for the second year.
