MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITIES OF WISCONSIN, INC.'S MISSION IS TO UNIFY AND STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY-OWNED UTILITIES MAXIMIZING THEIR SHARED INTERESTS AND CELEBRATING THEIR UNIQUE DIFFERENCES - TO ADVANCE THE BENEFITS OF PUBLIC POWER.
TO UNDERTAKE SUCH ACTIVITIES AS WILL FURTHER MUNICIPAL OWNERSHIP OF ELECTRIC UTILITIES OR OTHERWISE BE TO THE BENEFIT OF MUNICIPALLY-OWNED ELECTRIC UTILITIES AND WITH RESPECT TO SUCH PURPOSES; TO SECURE AND DISSEMINATE INFORMATION IN REGARD TO MUNICIPAL OWNERSHIP OF ELECTRIC UTILITIES, IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE PROGRESS AND EFFICIENCY OF MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITIES; TO AID AND ASSIST MEMBERS AND MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERS OF THE CORPORATION IN SECURING ENGINEERING, LEGAL AND OTHER ADVICE OR ASSISTANCE IN MATTERS PERTAINING TO MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITIES; TO PROMOTE LEGISLATION AND OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ACTION WHICH WILL BE BENEFICIAL TO THE MEMBERS AND MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERS OF THE CORPORATION, AND TO PREVENT LEGISLATION OR OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ACTION AS MAY BE INJURIOUS THERETO; TO RESIST EFFORTS BY PRIVATE ELECTRIC UTILITIES OR OTHERS TO PURCHASE OR OTHERWISE OBTAIN OR ELIMINATE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITIES; TO HOLD MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES OF THE MEMBERS.
REGIONAL SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROVIDES SITE-SPECIFIC PLANS AND RECORDKEEPING TO COMPLY WITH WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES REGULATIONS THAT MIRROR OSHA REGULATIONS AND ALSO PROVIDES TRAINING FOR EMPLOYEES OF MUNICIPALITIES TO COMPLY WITH THOSE PLANS.
ELECTRIC UTILITY SAFETY AND TRAINING (FORMERLY JOB TRAINING AND SAFETY) PROVIDES SAFETY TRAINING SESSIONS AT DIFFERENT SITES AROUND WISCONSIN, SERVING PRIMARILY LINEWORKERS EMPLOYED BY OUR MEMBER UTILITIES.
LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MONITORS LEGISLATION AND AGENCY REGULATIONS THAT WILL AFFECT OUR MEMBERS AND EDUCATE AND ASSIST OUR MEMBERS IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH LAWS AND REGULATIONS, SUCH AS REMINDING THEM ABOUT STATE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION ELECTRIC UTILITY REPORTING REQUIREMENTS, AND BY EDUCATING THEM ABOUT ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM GRANTS FOR WHICH THEY MAY BE ELIGIBLE.
