TO DEVELOP A PIPELINE OF FUTURE WORK-BASED LEARNING GRADUATES AND TO ENSURE GREATER ACCESS AND EQUITY TO EDUCATIONAL NEEDS, GPSED ALSO LAUNCHED PROGRAMS TO ALMOST 400 YOUNGER STUDENTS BY CREATING EARLY CAREER AWARENESS ACTIVITIES THAT OPENED THEIR MINDS AND INTEREST AROUND TECHNICAL CAREERS THEY DO NOT TYPICALLY LEARN ABOUT IN SCHOOL. GPSED IS ALSO LEVERAGING OUR INTERMEDIARY SERVICES TO CONVENE MORE PARTNERS TOGETHER BOTH IN AND OUTSIDE OF WISCONSIN TO SCALE WORK-BASED LEARNING SOLUTIONS THAT WILL IMPACT STUDENTS IN BOTH IN-PERSON AS WELL AS VIRTUAL SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES.
GPSED CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ADVANCED YOUTH APPRENTICESHIPS AND ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS THROUGH OUR 7 ED CENTERS LOCATED THROUGHOUT SE AND NE WISCONSIN. WITH AN AVERAGE ANNUAL ENROLLMENT OF 200 STUDENTS, THIS TRANSFORMATIONAL PROGRAM ALLOWS STUDENTS TO EARN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA FROM THEIR HOME HIGH SCHOOL, EARN STACKABLE CREDENTIALS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPATIONAL PROFICIENCY FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, MANUFACTURING SKILL STANDARDS COUNCIL (MSSC) CERTIFICATION, AND CREDITS IN THE WISCONSIN TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM. GPSED BOASTS A 94% AVERAGE GRADUATION RATE OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS. IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE MAJORITY OF THESE STUDENTS HAD TO OVERCOME SEVERE ACADEMIC DEFICIENCES. IN ADDITION, GPSED HAS MADE CONSIDERABLE INVESTMENTS IN THE RESEARCH AND DESIGN OF A NEW CLIENT SERVICE DELIVERY MODEL, EXPANSION OF PRODUCTS AND INTERMEDIARY SERVICES TO SUPPORT THE DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION, AND EXECUTION OF A RANGE OF WORK-BASED LEARNING SOLUTIONS THROUGH NGAGEMENTS WITH BUSINESSES, ASSOCIATIONS, AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHO ARE SEEKING TO EXPAND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OFFERINGS TO A WIDER RANGE OF STUDENTS.
