Organizations Filed Purposes:
Wisconsin Veterans Network's mission is to serve the needs of veterans and their families facing crises. We accomplish that mission through a network of public, private, nonprofit and veteran service organizations, without respect to branch of service or time served.
Intake, assessment and advocacy program: 526 veterans and veteran families were served during the year. Of that number, 123 who were homeless or facing imminent homelessness. In all, 655 distinct needs were identified and resources provided for those needs.Outreach program: In conjunction with the Regional Office of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, community senior living facilities were surveyed to identify senior citizen veterans who were eligible for VA or Wisconsin Dept. of Veteran Affairs benefits, but had never accessed those benefits. Over 100 senior citizen veterans were enrolled in benefits programs as a result of that outreach program, which will be continued into 2019.
