THE 32,000-SQUARE-FOOT WEDGE-SHAPED BUILDING HOUSES FIVE PERMANENT COLLECTION GALLERIES AND FOUR TEMPORARY EXHIBITION SPACES, AS WELL AS CLASSROOMS, VISIBLE ART STORAGE, A SHOP, AND A LARGE ATRIUM FOR PUBLIC EVENTS. THE SURROUNDING FOUR-ACRE GREEN SPACE, THE MOWA GARDENS, FEATURES A TREE-LINED FIELD FOR ACTIVITIES AND FESTIVALS, BEAUTIFUL GARDENS AND GROVES OF TREES, SEVERAL OUTDOOR SCULPTURES, AND INTERCONNECTED WALKWAYS THAT LEAD TO EXCITING DESTINATIONS IN WEST BEND. MOWA ALSO OPERATES A 1,700 SQUARE FOOT GALLERY, MOWA | DTN , LOCATED ON THE FIRST FLOOR OF DOWNTOWN MILWAUKEE'S SAINT KATE - THE ARTS HOTEL, AS WELL AS TWO OTHER SATELLITE LOCATONS IN MILWAUKEE AND MADISON.
MOWA OFFERS UNIQUE LEARNING EXPERIENCES THAT IGNITE THE MINDS OF TODAY'S YOUTH AND CONNECT ART TO THE EVERYDAY, INCLUDING K-12 SCHOOL GROUP TOURS FOR THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS ANNUALLY, HOMESCHOOL TOURS, ART-MAKING STUDIOS, CAMPS, FAMILY WORKSHOPS, AND GIRL SCOUT TOURS.
EVERYONE'S A MEMBER AT THE MUSEUM OF WISCONSIN ART. MUSEUM ADMISSION FEES ARE ACTUALLY LOW COST MEMBERSHIPS THAT ALLOW UNLIMITED ACCESS TO THE MUSEUM FOR A FULL YEAR. THIS PHILOSOPHY ENCOURAGES FREQUENT PARTICIPATION IN 18 ROTATING EXHIBITIONS AND 175+ FREE-FOR-MEMBER PROGRAMS THAT TAKE PLACE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
