Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE VOLUNTEER CENTER WORKS TO MOBILIZE VOLUNTEERS AND RESOURCES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. OUR PRIMARY GOALS ARE: 1) TO PROMOTE AND EXPAND OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE, 2) STRENGTHEN NONPROFIT PARTNERS THROUGH CONNECTIONS TO VOLUNTEERS AND RESOURCES 3) BUILD AND SUPPORT PARTNERSHIPS THAT ADDRESS COMMUNITY NEEDS THROUGH VOLUNTEERISM WE'RE BUILDING A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERY PERSON CAN DISCOVER THEIR POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. COMMUNITY MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN ENGAGING PROGRAMS LIKE THE DO GOOD BUS, CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE, CAMP SUPER HERO, AND THE HUB - SOCIAL GOOD BREWS.
IN 2019, THE VOLUNTEER CENTER CONNECTED 10,833 VOLUNTEERS TO MEANINGFUL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT WASHINGTON COUNTY. VOLUNTEERS DONATED MORE THAN 774,000 HOURS TO BENEFIT OVER 50 LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. USING THE WISCONSIN VALUE OF A VOLUNTEER HOUR, THE IMPACT VALUE OF OUR 2019 VOLUNTEERS TOTALED 19.5 MILLION. OUR INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TAKE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FAR BEYOND OUR EVERYDAY VOLUNTEER MATCHING AND MEMBER SUPPORT SERVICES. THE DO GOOD BUS DRIVES CHANGE BY TEACHING RIDERS ABOUT THE NEEDS FACING OUR COMMUNITY AND THE SIMPLE, YET POWERFUL, WAYS THAT VOLUNTEERS CAN CONTRIBUTE. CAMP SUPER HERO EDUCATES YOUTH ABOUT LOCAL NONPROFITS AND THE POWER OF SERVICE THROUGH THE SUMMER MONTHS AND BEYOND. CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE CELEBRATES THE INCREDIBLE IMPACT OF LOCAL VOLUNTEERS. OTHER INITIATIVES LIKE THE HUB COFFEE SHOP HEIGHTEN AWARENESS AND DRIVE COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH OUR DOORS. THROUGH OUR CURRENT BUILDING EXPANSION, WE'RE ALSO EXPANDING OUR REACH WITH A STATE-OF-THE-ART COMMUNITY KITCHEN, ONSITE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, AND COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS. AS WE DIVERSIFY THE WAYS WE REACH AND ENGAGE WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS, MORE PEOPLE BECOME EMPOWERED TO VOLUNTEER IN WAYS THAT FIT INTO THEIR SCHEDULE, INTERESTS, AND ASPIRATIONS. THIS HELPS OUR ORGANIZATION ACHIEVE A VITAL GOAL: MORE VOLUNTEERS SERVING OUR LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. WE'RE PROUD TO SERVE WASHINGTON COUNTY AND THE MANY GENEROUS PEOPLE THAT CALL OUR COMMUNITY HOME
