Daemion Counseling Center, Inc. offers professional mental health counseling focused on helping community residents navigate life's many transitions, by providing expert yet affordable care.
Daemion Counseling Center, Inc. gives hope one hour at a time. We work tirelessly to restore hope in those feeling hopeless, to support those feeling helpless, and to change the outcomes for people dealing with anger, trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, grief, and loss, among other life transitions and challenges. We carry out our mission by providing professional, affordable mental health counseling to individuals, couples, and families, from age 14 to seniors, with a caring, nonjudgmental , and solution-based approach. We are equally committed to community outreach and education, reducing the stigma associated with mental health care and increasing access to local counseling and support groups for individuals and (continued) families in need. Clients receive a free telephone consult and typically can see a therapist within two to three days. Recent examples of our services include support groups for employees dealing with the work-related stress of daily interventions to help disadvantaged mothers and infants, as well as support groups on aging well, grief, and loss. Daemion also sponsored and participated in a community education session on the opioid crisis, bringing together a panel of clinical, research, and recovery experts, along with local law enforcement and school resources. We help families cope with the anguish of a member who has an addiction to alcohol, prescription drugs, opioids, or other substances - as well as supporting sobriety and recovery. With almost 50 years of support to the local community, our services have evolved to include Drug and Alcohol Evaluations, Anger Management evaluation and counseling, stress management, as well as counseling for anxiety, depression, grief, loss, aging, positive wellbeing, divorce, job transitions, and parenting. Our goal is to help our clients heighten their self-awareness, so that they are equipped to make more effective, proactive life choices and to improve their ability to cope with daily, as well as unexpected stresses. Our therapists help clients process developmental and trauma-related experiences that shape how they process the world and relate to others by exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to identify opportunities for growth. Couple gain an understanding of their partner's interpretation of events, learn to communicate more effectively, modify their own actions in anticipation of their partner's perception, and support their partner through moments of vunerability. We serve the insured, underinsured, and offer a sliding fee scale for clients who cannot afford to pay the full cost of mental health counseling. No one is turned away for lack of ability to pay for care.
