Organizations Filed Purposes: TO BE THE PREMIER RESOURCE TO CONNECT, EMPOWER, AND TRANSFORM AN INCLUSIVE AND ENGAGED DIVERSE CULTURE WITHIN THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY BY PARTNERING WITH PEOPLE, BUSINESSES, AND NON-PROFITS THROUGH VOLUNTEER COORDINATION, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND RECOGNITION.

THE VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY (VCLV) GREW OUT OF A 1982 COMMUNITY INITIATIVE LEAD BY LOCAL BUSINESSES AND AGENCIES AND, IN 1985, INCORPORATED AS AN INDEPENDENT NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION.VCLV'S CORE FOCUS INCLUDES VOLUNTEER COORDINATING FOR INDIVIDUALS, TEAMS AND BUSINESSES. WE PROVIDE EXTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDE BOARD SERVICE, VOLUNTEER COORDINATION TRAINING AND NONPROFIT SKILL BUILDING. ANNUALLY WE CONNECT OVER 25,000 VOLUNTEERS WORKING WITH 450+ NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND PARTNERING WITH OVER 100 BUSINESSES ANNUALLY. WE COORDINATE VOLUNTEER SERVICE DAYS FOR UNITED WAY OF THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY WITH THE DAY OF CARING AND MINI DAYS OF CARING; AS WELL AS NATIONAL SERVICE DAYS- MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., 9/11 DAY OF SERVICE, FAMILY VOLUNTEER DAY, AND GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY PROJECTS WHICH ENGAGE ALL AGES IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH VOLUNTEERING.

LEAD NOW - BOARD TRAININGCLASSES FOR THOSE WHO ARE CONSIDERING JOINING OR ALREADY PARTICIPATE ON A NON-PROFIT BOARD. COURSES TEACH HOW TO BECOME A BETTER BOARD MEMBER AND DISCUSSES WHAT IS INVOLVED BY BELONGING ON A BOARD.BREAKFAST FOR CHAMPIONSANNUAL "BREAKFAST FOR CHAMPIONS" KICKS-OFF OBSERVANCES FOR NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK. THE BREAKFAST FOR CHAMPIONS PAYS TRIBUTE TO VOLUNTEERS FROM NONPROFIT AGENCIES IN THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY.PROJECT BLUEPRINTLEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WITH THE GOAL OF INCREASING THE NUMBER OF ETHNIC DIVERSE VOLUNTEERS PROVIDING LEADERSHIP FOR THE BOARDS OF LEHIGH VALLEY NON-PROFIT AGENCIES.UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING THE LARGEST, SINGLE-DAY VOLUNTEER EFFORT IN OUR COMMUNITY! IN 2019, 800+ VOLUNTEERS DONATED 5,000 HOURS OF THEIR TIME, ROLLED UP THEIR SLEEVES TO LANDSCAPE, PAINT, REORGANIZE, HARVEST, BUILD & REFURBISH AT 60 DIFFERENT PROJECTS. OTHERS VISITED, PLAYED GAMES AND TOOK MEALS TO THE HOME BOUND.GOLEAD GOLEAD INSTITUTE IS A UNIQUE TRAINING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO HELP PREPARE YOUNG PEOPLE FOR LEADERSHIP ROLES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.HOLIDAY HOPE CHESTS COLLECT, ORGANIZE, AND DISTRIBUTE OVER 7,700 SHOEBOXES FILLED WITH GIFTS FOR CHILDREN OF NEED HERE IN THE LEHIGH VALLEY.
