EMS SERVICES INCLUDE: EMS SERVICE TO THE LEVEL OF CARE NECESSARY TO INCLUDE ADVANCED & BASIC LIFE SUPPORT, BARIATRIC SERVICES FOR PATIENTS WEIGHING OVER 350 POUNDS AND PATIENT TRANSPORT SERVICES; EMS COVERAGE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS IN OUR FIRST DUE TERRITORY TO INCLUDE ATHLETIC EVENTS, CAR SHOWS, CONCERTS, FESTIVALS, MASS GATHERINGS AND VIP VISITS; AND MASS CASUALTY SERVICES AS A PART OF BOTH CUMBERLAND COUNTY'S MASS CASUALTY TEAM AND THE SOUTH CENTRAL PA EMS TASKFORCE. WE ALSO PROVIDE SUPPORT SERVICES AT THE SCENE OF FIRES, ACCIDENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES TO INCLUDE REHAB SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY WORKERS AT EXTENDED EMERGENCY INCIDENTS AS A SECOND ALARM RESOURCE. IN ADDITION TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES, WE CONDUCT COMMUNITY TRAINING AND EDUCATION AND HEALTH PROGRAMS.

MEDICAL SERVICES: EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES - WE PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES TO THE BOROUGH OF CARLISLE, NORTH MIDDLETON TOWNSHIP AND CARLISLE BARRACKS AND PORTIONS OF SOUTH MIDDLETON, WEST PENNSBORO, DICKINSON, LOWER FRANKFORD AND MIDDLESEX TOWNSHIPS. 6,587 EMERGENCY RESPONSES IN 2019.NON EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES - WE ALSO PROVIDE NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO CARLISLE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER AND THE CITIZENS OF OUR FIRST DUE TERRITORY AS REQUESTED. 3,834 NON-EMERGENCY RESPONSES IN 2019.CHAPLAIN SERVICE - OUR VOLUNTEER CHAPLAINS ROUTINELY RIDE ALONG WITH OUR CREWS DURING SEVERAL DAYLIGHT AND NIGHT SHIFTS A WEEK AND ARE ALSO AVAILABLE ON CALL AND BY SPECIAL REQUEST. THE CHAPLAIN'S ROLE IS BASICALLY ONE OF SUPPORT FOR OUR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING BOTH EMERGENCY INCIDENTS AND NON-EMERGENCY TRANSPORTS, BUT THEIR ROLES HAVE EXTENDED TO OTHERS INVOLVED WITH EMERGENCY INCIDENTS TO INCLUDE EMERGENCY RESPONDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. WHILE THE CHAPLAINS APPROACH IS PASTORAL IN NATURE, THEY APPROACH INDIVIDUALS IN A NON-PROSELYTING, NON-DENOMINATIONAL NATURE THAT OFFERS COMFORT REGARDLESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL'S FAITH.COMMUNITY TRAINING - CUMBERLAND GOODWILL OFFERS HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING TO THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE . MANY OF OUR PROVIDERS ARE CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS AND WE OFFER A WIDE VARIETY OF SUBJECTS FROM BASIC FIRST AID, OXYGEN ADMINISTRATION AND CPR TO TOPICS LIKE BABYSITTER TRAINING, PET FIRST AID AND FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING. ADDITIONAL TRAINING IS AVAILABLE ON A VARIETY OF HEALTH AND SAFETY TOPICS AND CAN BE PACKAGED IN DIFFERENT WAYS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF VARIOUS BUSINESSES, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS.BARIATRIC SERVICES - THE NUMBER OF OVERWEIGHT PATIENTS WE TRANSPORT, BOTH EMERGENCY AND NON- EMERGENCY, IS INCREASING WHICH ALSO INCREASES RISK FACTORS TO OUR STAFF AND PATIENTS FROM LIFTING, LOADING AND UNLOADING THEM INTO/OUT OF OUR AMBULANCES . OUR BARIATRIC SERVICE WASDEVELOPED TO PROVIDE SAFE AND RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION FOR PATIENTS WHO WEIGH IN EXCESS OF 350 POUNDS WHILE ALLOWING US TO PRESERVE PATIENT DIGNITY DURING TRANSPORT TO VARIOUS HEALTH FACILITIES. OUR CREWS UTILIZE A SPECIAL STRETCHER WITH A WIDER SURFACE AND A MAXIMUM CAPACITYOF 1600 LBS, ALONG WITH A RAMP AND WINCH SYSTEM TO SAFELY LOAD AND UNLOAD PATIENTS. BARIATRIC SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN ON-CALL BASIS FOR EMERGENCY AND NON-EMERGENCY CALLS BOTH BLS AND ALS.REHABILITATION SERVICES - WE PROVIDE REHAB SERVICES FOR EMERGENCY WORKERS AT EXTENDED EMERGENCY INCIDENTS (E.G. HAZ-MAT, STRUCTURE FIRES, STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE, EXTENDED SEARCH OPERATIONS AND MASS CASUALTY INCIDENTS) AS A SECOND ALARM RESOURCE.IN FEBRUARY 2018 CUMBERLAND GOODWILL EMS' ACCREDITATION WAS RENEWED FOR A THREE YEAR PERIOD BY THE COMMISSION ON ACCREDITATION OF AMBULANCE SERVCES (CAAS). WE ARE THE FIFTH PA AGENCY AND ONE OF NEARLY ONE HUNDRED SIXTY AGENCIES NATIONWIDE TO MEET THIS "GOLD STANDARD" OF MODERN EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE. TO ACHIEVE THIS RATING CUMBERLAND GOODWILL MET BOTH THE REMOTE AND ONSITE INSPECTION STANDARDS OF THE COMMISSION FOR PERSONNEL, COMMUNITY AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS, MEDICAL RECORDS, BILLING PROCEDURES, AND COMMUNICATION PROCESSES.
