SURREY PROVIDES HOME CARE SERVICES TO SUPPORT OLDER ADULTS WHO CHOOSE TO REMAIN INDEPENDENT AND IN THEIR HOMES. THIS PAST YEAR, WE WITNESSED MORE ELDERLY INDIVIDUALS CHOOSING TO REMAIN AT HOME RATHER THAN ENTER A SENIOR LIVING FACILITY DURING THE PANDEMIC. SURREY OFFERS SENIORS SUPPORT THROUGH PERSONAL CARE, SOCIAL COMPANIONS, AND 24/7 LIVE-IN CARE AS WELL AS CLEANING SERVICES. SURREY PROVIDES TELEMEDICINE SUPPORT AND RN CARE MANAGEMENT OFFERING SKILLED CARE AND SERVICES FOR SENIORS AT HOME AFTER A STAY IN A HOSPITAL, REHABILITATION FACILITY OR AFTER AN ACUTE ILLNESS. GERIATRIC CARE MANAGEMENT HELPS INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILY NAVIGATE THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, AND OUR MEDICAL PROCEDURE TRANSPORTATION SERVICE HELPS THOSE NEEDING ROUND TRIP TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM A MEDICAL PROCEDURE THAT REQUIRES ANESTHESIA AS WELL AS SAME DAY POST PROCEDURE CARE. ADDITIONALLY, WE PROVIDE PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT TO SUPPORT SENIORS LIVING INDEPENDENTLY. IN MID-MARCH, SURREY SUSPENDED NON-ESSENTIAL HOME CARE SERVICES LIKE CLEANING AND SOCIAL COMPANIONS AND IMPLEMENTED STRICT SCREENING PROTOCOLS AND COMMUNICATION WITH OUR HOME CARE CLIENTS AND CARE GIVERS TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF BOTH. IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2020, SURREY PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 65,500 HOURS OF HOME CARE SERVICES.
SURREY OFFERS EXTENSIVE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SENIORS WHO NO LONGER DRIVE OR HAVE DIFFICULTIES DRIVING. SOMETIMES A RIDE TO THE GROCERY, PHARMACY, OR DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT IS ALL A SENIOR NEEDS TO REMAIN INDEPENDENT, HEALTHY AND ACTIVE. SURREY HAS A FEW PAID DRIVERS, 2 SEDANS, A MINIVAN A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE VAN, AND AN EXPANSIVE GROUP OF VOLUNTEER DRIVERS WHO PROVIDE RIDES AND COMPANIONSHIP TO SENIORS IN OUR COMMUNITY. IN MID-MARCH, SURREY SUSPENDED ALL NON-ESSENTIAL TRANSPORTATION DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, AND IN AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION HAD TO SUSPEND OUR VOLUNTEER DRIVERS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. WE ESTABLISHED STRICT SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND SCREENING PROCEDURES FOR ALL OUR DRIVERS AND RIDERS AND CONTINUED TO PROVIDE RIDES TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS. IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2020, SURREY PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 12,000 RIDES TO 360 UNIQUE INDIVIDUALS.
