Organizations Filed Purposes:
Promote friendship and social enjoyment among members while supporting patriotic and civic aims within the community
To promote patriotic civic aims within the community and support current exservice men and women through associations
Besides supporting veterans and their families, we support local food banks, aid the community with medical type equipment such as wheel chairs, support area youth through boys and girl scout programs and have junior programs for boys and girls at the legion. Also help the Marines with Toys for Tots, conduct visitis to the VA Hospital to provide snacks, gifts, and entertainment such as bingo during the holidays. Conduct community drives for cell phones which are converted to phone cards for overseas military personnel. Collect coats for kids during the winter months. Donate and take care of local veterans needs with things like handicap ramps and utility bills.
Promote youth education by providing scholarships to Troop H (State Police), 4-H projects and scholarships to girls, provide annual scholarships to 12 students to further their education. Provide monetary support for the Special Olympics.
