To provide protection to life and property from loss and to serve the public in emergencies, disasters, events, incidents or community activities when called upon; serving the citizens of the Harmar Twp., Springdale Twp., and surrounding area with no discrimination.
AVVFC1 responded to 314 calls during 2019.Through the end of 2019 calendar year, AVVFC1 has responded to 2,319 incidents since its creation in June 2012.AVVFC has aided in the prevention of fires and the preservation of property and life to the residents of the Townships of Harmar and Springdale as well as providing mutual aid to surrounding areas/departments as requested.AVVFC has provided community safety education and awareness.
Education and Community - AVVFC1 provided fire prevention education at the local schools, provided smoke detectors and batteries at no cost to residents, provided assistance during Trick-or-Treat, provided Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit with children and distributed treat bags, provided Easter Egg Hunt for community.
AVVFC1 is under contract with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to provide fire and rescue services when requested.
