MERAKEY ALLOS PROVIDES BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY AND EDUCATION/AUTISM SERVICES IN CALIFORNIA, DELAWARE, TEXAS AND VIRGINIA. IN ADDITION, MERAKEY ALLOS HAS A MANAGED LONG TERM CARE AND SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM IN TENNESSEE.
MERAKEY ALLOS PROVIDES EMOTIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES WITHIN SEVEN CLASSROOMS IN THE CHRISTIANA SCHOOL DISTRICT IN DELAWARE. THE CLASSROOMS INCLUDE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS AND SUPPORT STAFF WHO ASSIST STUDENTS WITH ACADEMIC AND BEHAVIORAL GOALS ON AN INDIVIDUAL LEVEL. THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF MERAKEY ALLOS PROGRAMMING IS TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE FOR STUDENTS TO MOVE BACK TO A LOWER LEVEL OF CARE. MOVING INTO FY '21, THE PROGRAM WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY SERVICES TO STUDENTS WITH EMOTIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS IN THE CHRISTIANA SCHOOL DISTRICT SO STUDENTS CAN SUCCESSFULLY MEET THEIR EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND THRIVE IN A LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT.THE VIRGINIA PROGRAM OF MERAKEY ALLOS, LOCATED IN THE RICHMOND AND VIRGINIA BEACH AREA, SUPPORTS INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND DAY SERVICES. IN VIRGINIA, 24/7 RESIDENTIAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO 33 INDIVIDUALS.MERAKEY ALLOS PROVIDES DAY SERVICES TO 24 INDIVIDUALS IN VIRGINIA. WHILE THE CURRENT DAY PROGRAM MODEL IS PREDOMINATELY FACILITY BASED, MERAKEY ALLOS IS IN THE PROCESS OF CONVERTING IT TO BE MORE COMMUNITY BASED. MERAKEY ALLOS WAS AWARDED A GRANT TO INITIATE A COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM IN 2017. THE GRANT GAVE US THE ABILITY TO BEGIN THE PROCESS OF CONVERTING OUR FACILITY-BASED DAY PROGRAM TO ONE OF COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION. INDIVIDUALS IN THE PROGRAM ARE PROVIDED THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY LIVE WHILE EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEER WORK AND EVEN EMPLOYMENT. THE PROGRAM NOT ONLY PROVIDES THIS SERVICE TO THOSE WE SUPPORT IN OUR RESIDENTIAL HOMES, BUT OTHERS REFERRED TO US FROM OUTSIDE MERAKEY AS WELL.DURING FY20, MERAKEY ALLOS HAS THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENT HIGHLIGHTS:- THE IDD DIVISION WAS AWARDED A NEW ADOLESCENT ENHANCED BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT HOME BY THE SAN ANDREAS (CA) REGIONAL CENTER. THIS PROJECT WILL PROVIDE RESIDENTIAL SERVICES TO ADOLESCENTS WHO ARE INTELLECTUALLY/DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED AND WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH ANOTHER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DISORDER. - THE BUTLER COUNTY, OHIO BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS APPROVED A CONTRACT WITH THE BH DIVISION TO PROVIDE ADOLESCENT DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT TEAM (DDTT) SERVICES ON JUNE 13, 2019. THIS NEW MODEL OF CARE WILL SERVE ADOLESCENTS WHO ARE INTELLECTUALLY/DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED AND WHO ALSO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DISORDER. IT WILL BE THE FIRST PROGRAM OF ITS TYPE IN THE COUNTRY. SERVICES ARE SCHEDULED TO BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER.- THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND THE SACRAMENTO REGIONAL CENTER ALSO AWARDED THE IDD DIVISION TWO HOMES THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY MANAGED BY A TROUBLED PROVIDER. - THE IDD DIVISION WAS AWARDED ANOTHER ENHANCED BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT HOME (EBSH) IN CALIFORNIA. THIS FACILITY WILL BE CONTRACTED THROUGH THE VALLEY MOUNTAIN REGIONAL CENTER AND WILL BE HOME TO FOUR DUALLY DIAGNOSED ADULTS WHO HAVE CO-OCCURRING MEDICAL HEALTH NEEDS. IT WILL BE MERAKEY'S FIRST HOME IN THE SAN JOAQUIN OR STANISLAUS COUNTY AREA.
