TODAY, FCMC LONG-TERM CARE IS VERY MUCH A VITAL PART OF THE ORGANIZATION. THIS IS THE ONLY NURSING HOME IN FULTON COUNTY. HEALTHCARE HAS DRAMATICALLY CHANGED SINCE 1970 WHEN THE LONG-TERM CARE UNIT WAS BUILT, HOWEVER, THE QUALITY OF CARE, COUPLED WITH THE FAMILY-LIKE ATMOSPHERE, HAS REMAINED UNCHANGED. IF THE FACILITY DID NOT EXIST, FAMILIES WOULD HAVE TO TRAVEL OVER MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN TO RECEIVE LONG-TERM CARE SERVICES. WHILE THE FACILITY ACCEPTS ALL MAJOR INSURANCES, PRIVATE PAY, MEDICARE, AND MEDICAID, THE MAJORITY OF THE PATIENTS (APPROXIMATELY 70%) HAVE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.
