Organizations Filed Purposes:
TO HELP ALL AFFECTED BY ADDICTIVE DISEASE TO BECOME HEALTHY IN BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT.
ADULT INPATIENT TREATMENT BY AGE AND GENDER: RECOGNIZING HOW BOTH GENDER AND AGE IMPACT THE BEST PRACTICES FOR SOMEONE TO RECOVER, PATIENT FLOORS HAVE BEEN DIVIDED TO PROVIDE SPECIALIZED TREATMENT TO MEN AND WOMEN SEPARATELY AS WELL AS IN GROUPS FROM AGES 22-35, 36-49, AND 50+. EACH SEGMENT HAS THERAPISTS, GROUP ROOMS AND LOUNGES EMBEDDED ON THEIR UNIT. THIS ALLOWS EACH GROUP TO START TO BUILD THEIR RECOVERY NETWORKS WITH THEIR PEERS, AND FOCUS ON NEEDS COMMONLY PRESENT AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF LIFE. LONG TERM HABILITATION: IN MAY 2020, GATEWAY REHAB CELEBRATED ITS ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF A LONG TERM HABILITATION PROGRAM CALLED RAMSEY HALL EXTENDED SERVICE TREATMENT OR REST. REST WAS CREATED TO BE A 60-90 DAY INPATIENT PROGRAM OPTION FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF A SHORT TERM RESIDENTIAL INPATIENT. THIS PROGRAM IS LOCATED IN RAMSEY HALL ON OUR MAIN CAMPUS IN CENTER TWP., PA, AND SERVES MEN AND WOMEN AGES 18 YEARS AND OLDER. MANY OF THE ELEMENTS OF GATEWAY'S SHORT-TERM PROGRAM ARE INCORPORATED INTO REST, HOWEVER, ADDING LIFE-SKILLS TO THE PROGRAM IS CRITICAL TO ENSURING THAT PATIENTS ARE WELL PREPARED TO START THEIR LIVES IN RECOVERY, GIVING THEM A BETTER CHANCE AT SUCCESS AFTER TRANSITIONING BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY. RESIDENTS WILL WORK ON EDUCATIONAL, CAREER, AND FINANCIAL SKILLS NECESSARY TO SUPPORT A RECOVERY LIFESTYLE. WE REFER TO THIS AS THE "HABILITATION" PHASE. MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT IS ALSO BE SUPPORTED ON THE UNIT. NO INTERRUPTION OF CARE DURING THE PANDEMIC: ALL DEPARTMENTS SUCCESSFULLY RESPONDED TO THE CHALLENGES OF THE COVID-19 CRISIS SO THAT OUR PATIENTS NEVER EXPERIENCED AN INTERRUPTION IN THEIR CARE. LIKEWISE, WE ENSURED ALL PROGRAMS COULD CONTINUALLY ACCEPT NEW ADMISSIONS DURING THIS TIME. WE'VE MINIMIZED RISK AT ALL RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES, PROVIDED TELE-HEALTH WHEN POSSIBLE, AND CONTINUED TO HELP PATIENTS FIND THEIR ROADS TO RECOVERY EVEN IN THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES. CENTER OF EXCELLENCE & RECOVERY COACHING GROWTH: SINCE 2016, THE RESULTS OF RECOVERY PEER SERVICES WERE SO IMPACTFUL IN INDIVIDUALS' LONG TERM RECOVERY AND TREATMENT ADMISSIONS THAT THE SERVICE BECAME BILLABLE WITH MOST STATE FUNDING PROVIDERS AS WELL AS A FEW PRIVATE INSURANCE PROVIDERS. THE PROGRAM WAS ORIGINALLY GRANT-FUNDED BY THE PA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. THIS HAS HELPED TO DRIVE NEW ENROLLMENT AND ENCOURAGE CERTIFIED RECOVERY SPECIALISTS TO BECOME MORE MOBILE AROUND THE PATIENT FOR CONTINUAL FACE TO FACE SUPPORTS. THE TEAM OF CERTIFIED RECOVERY SPECIALISTS AND CARE COORDINATORS MAINTAIN A CASE LOAD OF ABOUT 30 PEOPLE EACH.
