Fundraising arm of Presbyterian SeniorCare and its tax exempt affiliates. The mission of the Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation is to support Presbyterian SeniorCare and its tax-exempt affiliates by building relationships and creating a culture that values donors, philanthropy, volunteers, and stewardship.Established on January 25, 1928 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Presbyterian SeniorCare is a not-for-profit, charitable organization committed to enriching the aging experience through person-centered service and living options. In keeping with the charitable mission of Presbyterian SeniorCare, donors generously contribute gifts that support benevolent care, capital improvements, program enhancements, and an emergency fund for employees in dire need through the Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation.
All fundraising programs and services are conducted to support the charitable mission of Presbyterian SeniorCare Network and its affiliated tax exempt charitable organizations. Presbyterian SeniorCare Network is the sole member of numerous nonprofit membership corporations that provide a regional system of housing, personal care, Alzheimer's and dementia care, long-term and rehabilitation healthcare, and community services for older adults. Of note are its 28 affordable housing communities serving persons with disabilities and low-income seniors through a service-enriched model that supports aging in place and minimizes the need for institutional care. Presbyterian SeniorCare Network gives back to its local communities and provides charitable care to the seniors it serves in its personal care communities who are no longer able to pay for their care. In 2019 across its regional network, it provided $574,200 in community support and a combined total of $26.5 million in benevolent and uncompensated care, of which benevolent care represented $2.3 million. The Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation secures financial resources for places, programs and benevolent care, also known as charitable care. Its fundraising programs include special events, solicitations, major gifts as well as annual, memorial and planned giving. Programs are conducted as a comprehensive effort and include benevolent care, resident and staff enrichment, capital projects and capital equipment fundraising. In 2019, the Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation secured $114,270 in bequests and charitable gift annuities. And our membership in the Anderson Legacy Society, an honor reserved for those who have included Presbyterian SeniorCare Network in their wills or estate plans, grew to 58 members, up by 10 members since 2018.A major 2019 focus also was the completion of the Woodside of Washington capital campaign, which surpassed its goal of $3 million by over $100,000. Woodside Place of Washington is the first free-standing residential community specializing in dementia care in Washington County. Special events held by the Foundation continued to raise much-needed funds for Presbyterian SeniorCare Network. Two major events - Your Holiday Home and the 24th Annual Golf Outing raised $33,512 for Benevolent Care at the Washington Campus and $121,667 for the Woodside Place of Washington Capital Campaign respectively. The 12th Annual Your Holiday Home event was the largest ever, welcoming 435 guests who raised a record amount. To date, the event has raised $257,925 for needs at our Washington campus.2019 also saw the beginning of a new Benevolent Care Fund strategy. We have increased both the number of Cornerstone Society members, those who have supported Presbyterian SeniorCare Network with a leadership gift of $1,000 or more to benevolent or unrestricted support, and the Anderson Legacy Society donors who have made planned gifts by including us in their wills or estate plans, each of the last four years. The Foundation is embarking on a new strategy in earnest in 2020 - that will increase benevolent care funds by $4 million.
