Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ASB) is a human services organization that provides direct education to those in the Philadelphia region facing blindness or a loss of vision. ASB also fosters connections among the region's many diverse resources, working with partners to advance health and well-being, utilize technology as a tool, and expand the reach of the arts and cultural offerings in local communities.
Human Services: ASB provided services and programming to promote independence in individuals facing blindness or loss of vision. ASB provides education, training, community connections, and enrichment under our Human Services Division. Services included skills training including home management skills, internet and personal computer skills, mobility skills, enrichment programming, and access to resources and external partners for additional assistance. In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, all educational and enrichment programming was moved to the remote learning environment. Since transitioning to remote operations, ASB has seen an increase in demand for services and enrollment in programs.
