Organizations Filed Purposes: COALITION AGAINST CANCER (CAC2) IS A COLLABORATIVE NETWORK OF ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO SUPPORT AND SERVE THE CHILDHOOD CANCER COMMUNITY. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.THE MISSION OF CAC2 IS TO FOSTER AND SUSTAIN GREATER LEVELS OF COORDINATED ACTION, INFORMATION EXCHANGE, LEARNING, AND BROAD-BASED COLLABORATION THROUGH AGREED-UPON INITIATIVES IN FOUR AREAS: RESEARCH AND TREATMENT, FAMILY SUPPORT AND SURVIVORSHIP, AWARENESS BUILDING, AND ADVOCACY. CAC2 WORKS TO BENEFIT THE CHILDHOOD CANCER COMMUNITY - INCLUDING BOTH ITS MEMBERSHIP AND CHILDHOOD CANCER PATIENTS, SURVIVORS, AND THEIR FAMILIES - THROUGH GREATER LEVELS OF COORDINATED ACTION THAT LEVERAGE THE UNIQUE STRENGTHS AND EXPERTISE OF ITS MEMBERS, MINIMIZING WASTE OF PRECIOUS RESOURCES IN ORDER TO DRIVE BETTER OUTCOMES FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

COLLABORATIVE NETWORK TO SUPPORT & SERVE THE CHILDHOOD CANCER COMMUNITY.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ASSOCIATION OF PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY SOCIAL WORKERS (APOSW), THE ASSOCIATION OF PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY NURSES (APHON), AND KBI BIOPHARMA, CAC2 CONTINUES TO IMPROVE THE USER FEATURES OF THE HOPE PORTAL (HOPE-PORTAL.ORG) AND EXPAND THE NUMBER OF FEATURED ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO FAMILIES IMPACTED BY CHILDHOOD CANCER. HOPE PORTAL IS A VITAL RESOURCE FOR THE CHILDHOOD CANCER COMMUNITY THAT MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR FAMILIES IMPACTED BY PEDIATRIC CANCERS TO FIND SOURCES OF SUPPORT IN SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHIC AREAS TO HELP EASE THE MANY BURDENS AND CHALLENGES OF CHILDHOOD CANCER. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.CAC2 UPDATED ITS CHILDHOOD CANCER FACT LIBRARY, WHICH IS A WIDELY CITED AND TRUSTED SOURCE OF FACTS AND DATA ON PEDIATRIC CANCERS AND THEIR IMPACT ON PATIENTS, SURVIVORS, AND THEIR FAMILIES.CAC2 CONTINUES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE INTERNATIONAL CANCER RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP, COLLABORATING TO PROVIDE FUNDING DATA IN A CENTRAL REPOSITORY OF PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH STUDIES AS AN EFFECTIVE MEANS TO ASSESS FUNDING PRIORITIES AND GAPS. THIS VALUABLE TOOL ALSO HELPS TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER RESEARCH PROJECTS, INCLUDING THE POTENTIAL FOR CO-FUNDING PARTNERSHIPS.THE CAC2 WEBINAR SERIES FEATURED 9 OFFERINGS TO ITS MEMBERSHIP AND INVITED GUESTS; TOPICS INCLUDED TARGETED DRUG DISCOVERY FOR PEDIATRIC AML, THE VINCRISTINE DRUG SHORTAGE, TISSUE DONATION AND ITS IMPORTANCE FOR PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH, AND CANCER IN CHILDREN WITH BIRTH DEFECTS.CAC2 PROVIDED ITS MEMBERS WITH TRAINING AND OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO CONTRIBUTE TO NATIONAL DISCUSSIONS SUCH AS DRUG SHORTAGES, RACE ACT IMPLEMENTATION, AND THE REDESIGN OF CLINTRIALS.GOV. IN ADDITION, CAC2 DELIVERED TO ITS MEMBERS A COMPENDIUM OF RESOURCES TO SUPPORT THEM IN NAVIGATING THE COVID-19 CRISIS. ALTHOUGH THE ANNUAL SUMMIT COULD NOT BE HELD IN PERSON OVER 2 DAYS AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC, CAC2 DID REPURPOSE THE SUMMIT INTO A VIRTUAL MEETING THAT FOCUSED ON ONGOING ADVOCACY AND LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS ACROSS THE CHILDHOOD CANCER COMMUNITY AS WELL AS INTRODUCED THE INCOMING CHAIR OF THE CHILDREN'S ONCOLOGY GROUP TO THE CAC2 MEMBERSHIP.
