IN THESE SETTINGS, AS WELL AS IN ITS U.S.-BASED PROGRAMS, THE DI BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER ACROSS RELIGIONS AND CULTURES TO PROMOTE DIALOGUE THAT ENHANCES HARMONY, TOLERANCE AND RESPECT. PUBLICATION OF QUARTERLY PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL OF ECUMENICAL STUDIES. THE ORGANIZATION, THROUGH JOURNAL SUBSCRIBERS, AUTHORS, REVIEWERS,RESEARCHERS, READERS AND WEBSITE VISITORS, HAS MADE AN IMPACT ON APPROXIMATELY 4,100 PEOPLE DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2019.

THE DIALOGUE INSTITUTE: A) SENIOR STAFF LECTURED TO AND CONSULTED WITH STUDENTS AND SCHOLARS IN BEIJING, SHANDONG, AND DENGFENG, CHINA; SEVERAL CITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES AND INDONESIA; AND AT NAZARETH COLLEGE IN ROCHESTER, NY; B) PROVIDED NETWORKING AND SUPPORT TO SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS AND DIALOGUE CENTERS. THE ORGANIZATION ESTIMATED THAT APPROXIMATELY 3,000 PEOPLE BENEFITED DIRECTLY FROM THESE DI PROGRAMS, NOT INCLUDING THOSE REACHED BY RADIO/TELEVISION BROADCASTS.

THROUGH TWO INTENSIVE FIVE-WEEK INSTITUTES, FUNDED BY THE U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT, THE DIALOGUE INSTITUTE TEACHES UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND SOUTH EAST ASIA ABOUT AMERICAN DEMOCRACY AND THE FOUNDATIONS OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN THE U.S. THROUGH CLASSROOM SESSIONS, WORKSHOPS, ENGAGEMENT WITH AMERICAN PARTNERS, AND RELIGIOUS AND HISTORICAL SITE VISITS, STUDENTS RECEIVE HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE OF THE PRACTICE OF RELIGIOUS PLURALISM. THE DIALOGUE INSTITUTE TRAINS STUDENTS IN THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF RESPECTFUL INTERRELIGIOUS AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE, WHILE PROVIDING LEADERSHIP TRAINING FOR THEIR WORK AS PEACE BUILDERS IN THEIR HOME CONTEXTS. 40 INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS COMPLETED THIS PROGRAM; THEY INTERACTED WITH CA. 50 AMERICAN COLLEGE STUDENTS, 40 HOST FAMILY MEMBERS, AND OVER 1,000 MEMBERS OF RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES, AND ENVIRONMENTAL AND VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS,FOR A DIRECT IMPACT ON 1,244 PEOPLE. AN ADDITIONAL 2,000(EST) PEOPLE WERE IMPACTED BY TRAINEES CARRYING OUT PROGRAMS IN THEIR HOME CONTEXTS.
