THE EAGLES AUTISM CHALLENGE IS DEDICATED TO RAISING FUNDS FOR INNOVATIVE RESEARCH AND PROGRAMS TO HELP UNLOCK THE MYSTERY OF AUTISM. BY PROVIDING THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS AT LEADING INSTITUTIONS, WE WILL BE ABLE TO ASSIST THOSE CURRENTLY AFFECTED BY AUTISM AS WELL AS FUTURE GENERATIONS. OUR EVENT AIMS TO INSPIRE AND ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY, SO TOGETHER, WE CAN PROVIDE MUCH NEEDED SUPPORT TO MAKE A LASTING IMPACT IN THE FIELD OF AUTISM. ON THE FIELD WE'RE UNITED BY ONE OBJECTIVE; VICTORY. OFF THE FIELD, WE ARE DRAWN TOGETHER BY AN EVEN LARGER GOAL: TAKING ACTION FOR AUTISM. THROUGH RESEARCH, ADVOCACY, EMPATHY AND UNITY OUR BIGGEST STRENGTH IS BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER. SO, WE'RE INVITING THE WORLD TO JOIN US AND TOGETHER,WE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT THAT ECHOES AROUND THE GLOBE.
THE EAGLES AUTISM CHALLENGE IS A FUNDRAISING EVENT THAT INCLUDES A ONE-DAY BIKE RIDE AND FAMILY-FRIENDLY 5K RUN/WALK FEATURING PHILADELPHIA EAGLES PLAYERS, ALUMNI, COACHES, EXECUTIVES, CHEERLEADERS AND SWOOP.
EAGLES AUTISM CHALLENGE (EAC) BELIEVES THAT AUTISM IS AN AREA THAT NEEDS MORE ATTENTION AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT. EAC ORDINARILY WOULD HAVE HOSTED A ONE DAY EVENT THAT INCLUDED A BIKE RIDE AND A FAMILY-FRIENDLY 5K RUN/WALK THAT BEGINS AND ENDS AT LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THIS EVENT WAS POSTPONED IN 2020 FROM 5/16/20 TO 9/26/20. THE EVENT IN SEPTEMBER WAS A FULLY VIRTUAL EVENT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS. EAC UNDERSTANDS THAT IT IS DIFFICULT FOR A SINGLE INSTITUTION TO ADDRESS THE COMPLEX MEDICAL AND SCIENTIFIC ISSUES PRESENTED BY THE CONDITION OF AUTISM, SO THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDING WAS OPEN TO INSTITUTIONS IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA. PROCEEDS GENERATED IN ALL OF FYE 6/30/2020 AND THROUGH THE EVENT DATED 9/26/20 BENEFITTED/WILL BENEFIT DIFFERENT AUTISM PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA. COMMUNITY GRANTS AND RESEARCH GRANTS WILL BE PAYABLE TO BENEFICIARIES ELECTED AFTER THE RESEARCH REVIEW PANEL SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 15, 2021.
