THE INGLIS FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO ENABLE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, AND THOSE WHO CARE FOR THEM, TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. INGLIS PARTNERS WITH THE DISABILITY COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS THAT ENABLE CONSUMERS TO OVERCOME BARRIERS AND TO LIVE LIFE WITH THE GREATEST POSSIBLE INDEPENDENCE AND MOBILITY.
PROVIDES STRATEGIC PLANNING, FUNDRAISING & PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR INGLIS AND RELATED ORGANIZATIONS.
FOUNDED IN 1877, INGLIS HAS BEEN SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO LIVE THE LIVES THEY CHOOSE, WHERE AND HOW THEY CHOOSE. INGLIS IS A NATIONAL LEADER IN PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE CARE AND SERVICES FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, CEREBRAL PALSY, SPINAL CORD INJURIES AND OTHER NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS RESULTING IN SOME LEVEL OF PARALYSIS AND MOBILITY IMPAIRMENT. FROM ADAPTED TECHNOLOGY, INDEPENDENT LIVING APARTMENTS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMMING, TO LONG-TERM CARE INGLIS MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE WE SERVE ALONG THE CONTINUUM OF CARE. INGLIS HAS THREE KEY AREAS OF PROGRAMMATIC FOCUS UNDER THE "PARENT" OF INGLIS FOUNDATION, INCLUDING: INGLIS COMMUNITY SERVICES, A COLLECTION OF PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO CHOOSE TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY; INGLIS HOUSING CORPORATION, THE LARGEST PRIVATE DEVELOPER IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA OF AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE INDEPENDENT LIVING APARTMENTS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES; AND INGLIS HOUSE, A LONG-TERM CARE WHEELCHAIR COMMUNITY FOR ADULTS 21 OR BETTER. ALL OF THESE SERVICES ARE SUPPORTED WITH INGLIS' THOUGHT LEADERSHIP AND EXPERTISE IN ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY AS WELL AS A COMMITMENT TO PERSON-CENTERED CARE. DURING FY20, INGLIS SERVED MORE THAN 1,000 PEOPLE DIRECTLY, AND MANY MORE INDIRECTLY THROUGH ITS WEBSITE, WWW.INGLIS.ORG, AND OTHER OUTREACH ACTIVITIES SUPPORTING ITS MISSION TO "ENABLE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND THOSE WHO CARE FOR THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST."KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR INGLIS FOUNDATION DURING FY20 INCLUDE:ENTERPRISE-WIDE (AFFECTING THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION):-CONTINUED TO COLLABORATE WITH KEY PARTNERS SUCH AS THE NATIONAL MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SOCIETY, UNITED SPINAL ASSOCIATION, UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY, ETC. TO BRING DISEASE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES TO ALL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.-PLANNED AND BEGAN SYSTEMS PROJECT TO REPLACE HUMAN RESOURCES, TIMEKEEPING, AND PAYROLL SYSTEMS WITH A NEW UNIFIED HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT SOLUTION TO INTEGRATE ALL SYSTEM PROCESSES RELATED TO EMPLOYEE LIFE CYCLE. -EXPANDED PARTNERSHIPS WITH EXTERNAL ORGANIZATIONS AND COMPANIES TO ENHANCE AND EXTEND INGLIS' ABILITY TO SERVE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. PARTNERSHIPS INCLUDE: AMAZON, MOBIQUITY, VOICEITT, METHODIST SERVICES, PRESBY'S INSPIRED LIFE, MOZZAZ, PENNSYLVANIA ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATION, AND OTHERS.-ADVANCED INGLIS' FY20-24 STRATEGIC PLAN, INCLUDING THE EXPLORATION OF LONG-TERM, STRATEGIC AFFILIATION OPPORTUNITIES WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS.-ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN THOUGHT LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY BY SPEAKING AT MANY CONFERENCES AND EVENTS AND SERVING AS A MAJOR SPONSOR, AS WELL AS A PRESENTER AT THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR COMPLEX CARE CONFERENCE IN FALL 2019.COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES (SERVING THOSE WHO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY):-JOURNEYS, INGLIS' FIRST BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM, AND THE FIRST CERTIFIED PEER SPECIALIST PROGRAM SPECIFICALLY GEARED TOWARDS INDIVIDUALS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES IS ACTIVE AND CONTINUES TO EXPAND SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY.-THE INGLIS INNOVATION CENTER INGLIS'S FIRST CAMPUS DEDICATED SOLELY TO COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMMING - OPENED IN DECEMBER 2019. -A NEW ADAPTED TECHNOLOGY COMPUTER AND RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT LABS WAS ALSO LAUNCHED IN DECEMBER 2019.-THE INGLIS' COMMUNITY COMPUTING (ADAPTED TECHNOLOGY) PROGRAM HAS NOW SUPPORTED OVER 700 INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR CAREGIVERS IN USING TECHNOLOGY TO INCREASE INDEPENDENCE.-CONNECTIONS, INGLIS' DAY PROGRAM, MOVED TO AN ENHANCED MODEL, PROVIDING NEW SERVICES AND ADDITIONAL CAPACITY. -COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROVIDES JOB COACHING AND COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES ACROSS THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA AREA.INGLIS HOUSE (LONG-TERM CARE/WHEELCHAIR COMMUNITY):-INGLIS HOUSE SERVED A POPULATION THAT WAS 53% FEMALE AND 47% MALE. SIXTY-TWO PERCENT IDENTIFY AS WHITE/CAUCASIAN, 35% AS BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN, AND 3% LATINO/ASIAN.-THE AVERAGE AGE OF AN INGLIS HOUSE RESIDENT IS 56 YEARS OLD. -MORE THAN A THIRD OF RESIDENTS HAVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AS A PRIMARY DIAGNOSIS, FOLLOWED BY CEREBRAL PALSY AND SPINA BIFIDA, SPINAL CORD INJURY AND OTHER CAUSES OF PARALYSIS.-PROVIDED SKILLED NURSING CARE TO A RESIDENT POPULATION WITH MANY OF THE HIGHEST ACUITY LEVELS IN THE STATE.-VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED OVER 11,000 HOURS OF SERVICE, AVERAGING MORE THAN 925 HOURS EACH MONTH, THANKS TO AN EXTREMELY ENGAGED VOLUNTEER NETWORK. -MORE THAN 120 THERAPEUTIC RECREATION AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS WERE PROVIDED EACH MONTH, ENGAGING RESIDENTS IN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ZUMBA, POKER, WEAVING, MUSIC, WHEELCHAIR BALLROOM DANCING, BIBLE STUDY, ACTING CLASS AND MORE.-CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD INCREASING OVERALL QUALITY OF CARE, OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES, AND METRICS TRACKING.-PROVIDED MORE THAN 2,000 IN-ROOM RESIDENT TECH SUPPORT CALLS THROUGH THE ADAPTED TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM, SUPPORTING MORE THAN 250 PERSONAL RESIDENT DEVICES-CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL INTRODUCTION OF VIRTUAL REALITY PROGRAMMING TO INGLIS HOUSE RESIDENTSINGLIS HOUSING CORPORATION (DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF ACCESSIBLE, AFFORDABLE HOUSING):-SUCCESSFULLY SUBMITTED AND AWAITING APPROVAL OF TAX CREDITS FOR INGLIS MAKEMIE COURT, A 44 UNIT LOW-INCOME HOUSING COMMUNITY LOCATED IN YEADON, PENNSYLVANIA.-ACTIVELY PLANNING FOR CLOSING AND CONSTRUCTION OF INGLIS METHODIST GARDENS, AN INGLIS PARTNERSHIP WITH METHODIST SERVICES, TO PROVIDE 47 AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS. TAX CREDITS WERE AWARDED IN FY20 AND CONSTRUCTION IS SLATED TO BEGIN IN JULY 2020.-SMART HOME ENVIRONMENTS FURTHER IMPLEMENTED IN INGLIS' ACCESSIBLE APARTMENTS.-MAINTAINED A 92% OCCUPANCY RATE IN ITS EXISTING 291 MANAGED HOUSING UNITS, AND SUCCESSFULLY CONTINUED TO LOCATE AND PROVIDE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO THOSE WHO NEED IT.
