INGLIS HOUSE IS A PART OF THE BROADER INGLIS COMMUNITY, MADE UP OF THE SEPARATE ENTITIES INGLIS FOUNDATION, INGLIS HOUSE, AND INGLIS HOUSING CORPORATION. KNOWN COLLECTIVELY AS "INGLIS," THESE THREE ENTITIES PROVIDE A CONTINUUM OF CARE, SUPPORTS, AND SERVICES THAT ENABLE MORE THAN 1,000 PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND THOSE WHO CARE FOR THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST.FOUNDED IN 1877, INGLIS HAS BEEN SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO LIVE THE LIVES THEY CHOOSE, WHERE AND HOW THEY CHOOSE. INGLIS IS A NATIONAL LEADER IN PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE CARE AND SERVICES FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, CEREBRAL PALSY, SPINAL CORD INJURIES AND OTHER NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS RESULTING IN SOME LEVEL OF PARALYSIS AND MOBILITY IMPAIRMENT. FROM ADAPTED TECHNOLOGY, INDEPENDENT LIVING APARTMENTS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMMING, TO LONG-TERM CARE INGLIS MEETS THE NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE WE SERVE ALONG THE CONTINUUM OF CARE.INGLIS HAS THREE KEY AREAS OF PROGRAMMATIC FOCUS UNDER THE "PARENT" OF INGLIS FOUNDATION, INCLUDING: INGLIS COMMUNITY SERVICES, A COLLECTION OF PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO CHOOSE TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY IN THE COMMUNITY; INGLIS HOUSING CORPORATION, THE LARGEST PRIVATE DEVELOPER IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA OF AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE INDEPENDENT LIVING APARTMENTS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES; AND INGLIS HOUSE, A LONG-TERM CARE WHEELCHAIR COMMUNITY FOR ADULTS 21 OR BETTER. ALL OF THESE SERVICES ARE SUPPORTED WITH INGLIS' THOUGHT LEADERSHIP AND EXPERTISE IN ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY AS WELL AS A COMMITMENT TO PERSON-CENTERED CARE. DURING FY20, INGLIS SERVED MORE THAN 1,000 PEOPLE DIRECTLY, AND MANY MORE INDIRECTLY, THROUGH ITS WEBSITE, WWW.INGLIS.ORG, AND OTHER OUTREACH ACTIVITIES SUPPORTING ITS MISSION TO "ENABLE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND THOSE WHO CARE FOR THEM TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST."KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR INGLIS HOUSE DURING FY20 INCLUDE:- INGLIS HOUSE SERVED A POPULATION THAT WAS 53% FEMALE AND 47% MALE. SIXTY-TWO PERCENT IDENTIFY AS WHITE/CAUCASIAN, 35% AS BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN, AND 3% LATINO/ASIAN.- THE AVERAGE AGE OF AN INGLIS HOUSE RESIDENT IS 56 YEARS OLD. - MORE THAN A THIRD OF RESIDENTS HAVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AS A PRIMARY DIAGNOSIS, FOLLOWED BY CEREBRAL PALSY AND SPINA BIFIDA, SPINAL CORD INJURY AND OTHER CAUSES OF PARALYSIS.- PROVIDED SKILLED NURSING CARE TO A RESIDENT POPULATION WITH MANY OF THE HIGHEST ACUITY LEVELS IN THE STATE.- VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED OVER 11,000 HOURS OF SERVICE, AVERAGING MORE THAN 925 HOURS EACH MONTH, THANKS TO AN EXTREMELY ENGAGED VOLUNTEER NETWORK. - MORE THAN 120 THERAPEUTIC RECREATION AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS WERE PROVIDED EACH MONTH, ENGAGING RESIDENTS IN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ZUMBA, POKER, WEAVING, MUSIC, WHEELCHAIR BALLROOM DANCING, BIBLE STUDY, ACTING CLASS AND MORE.- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD INCREASING OVERALL QUALITY OF CARE, OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES, AND METRICS TRACKING.- PROVIDED MORE THAN 2,000 IN-ROOM RESIDENT TECH SUPPORT CALLS THROUGH THE ADAPTED TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM, SUPPORTING MORE THAN 250 PERSONAL RESIDENT DEVICES- CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL INTRODUCTION OF VIRTUAL REALITY PROGRAMMING TO INGLIS HOUSE RESIDENTS
