THE MASONIC LIBRARY AND MUSEUM OF PENNSYLVANIA HOUSES OVER 135,000 OBJECTS AND SERVES AS A POPULAR RESOURCE FOR RESEARCH AND REFERENCE CONCERNING MASONIC HISTORY. THE MUSEUM COLLECTION INCLUDES OVER 30,000 ITEMS. THE LIBRARY HOUSES OVER 75,000 VOLUMES AND AN ADDITIONAL 30,000 DOCUMENTS AND MANUSCRIPTS. THE MUSEUM ACTIVELY COLLECTS ART AND ARTIFACTS OF HISTORICAL INTEREST, WHILE PRESENTING DISPLAYS AND MANAGING EXHIBITS THAT ENRICH A SENSE OF MASONIC HISTORY. MAINTAINED AND OPERATED THE CIRCULATING LIBRARY OF BOOKS AND PERIODICALS AT THE MASONIC TEMPLE. ADDED 120 BOOKS TO THE LIBRARY IN 2019. LIBRARY STAFF RESPONDED TO 225 INQUIRIES (PRIMARILY GENEALOGICAL) FROM VARIOUS RESEARCHERS AND CATALOGUED 325 MANUSCRIPTS. CONDUCTED TOURS OF THE MASONIC TEMPLE FOR OVER 13,500 VISITORS. THE MASONIC TEMPLE WAS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FIVE DAYS A WEEK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. CONDUCTED THE ACADEMY OF MASONIC KNOWLEDGE. OFFERED ONLINE COURSES IN MASONIC LAW, MENTOR PROGRAM, MASONIC HISTORY AND PENNSYLVANIA MASONIC YOUTH FOUNDATION ALONG WITH REGIONAL WORKSHOPS ON MASONIC EDUCATION. DURING 2019 THE LIBRARY COMPLETED A PROJECT TO DIGITIZE AND INDEX MASONIC MEMBERSHIP BOOKS TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO THE INFORMATION WHILE PRESERVING THE ORIGINAL PAPER DOCUMENTS.
