Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF NET COMMUNITY CARE, WHICH OPERATES TWO COMMUNITY UMBRELLA (CUA) CONTRACTS, IS TO STREGTHEN FAMILIES AND INCREASE PROTECTIVE FACTORS OF PARENTS AND CARETAKERS THROUGH ACTIVE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATION. THE PRINCIPLES OF CULTURAL COMPETENCY, RECOVERY, RESILIENCY, WELLNESS, COMMUNITY INTEGRATION AND STRENGTHS-BASED PLANNING SERVICE AS A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR OUR WORK. THE VISION IS THAT STREGTHENED COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS WILL FURTHER DEVELOP RESOURCES THAT SUPPORT YOUTH AND FAMILIES. COMMUNITIES WILL IMPROVE THE SAFETY, PERMANENCY AND WELL-BEING OUTCOMES FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES.
PROVIDE COMPASSIONATE CARE TO HELP INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES HEAL, RECOVER, AND REBUILD THEIR LIVES
COMMUNITY UMBRELLA AGENCY (CUA) 1 AND COMMUNITY UMBRELLA AGENCY 7: NET OPERATES TWO COMMUNITY UMBRELLA AGENCIES (CUAS) IN NORTH AND EASTERN NORTH PHILADELPHIA NEIGHBORHOODS (25TH AND 22ND POLICE DISTRICTS, CUA REGIONS 1 AND 7). THESE REGIONS ENCOMPASS SOME OF THE MOST CHALLENGING SOCIAL ISSUES IN TERMS OF HIGH RATES OF POVERTY, DOMESTIC AND COMMUNITY VIOLENCE, AND EXPOSURE OF YOUTH AND FAMILIES TO TRAUMA. CUAS SERVE AS THE CORNERSTONE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES' EFFORT TO TRANSFORM CHILD WELFARE. THE PRIMARY ROLE OF THE CUA IS TO PROVIDE CASE MANAGEMENT TO ALL FAMILIES IN THE REGION THAT ARE KNOWN TO THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM. A STRENGTHENING FAMILIES FRAMEWORK IS USED IN ALL CUA OPERATIONS. AS SUCH, CUAS ARE FULLY INTEGRATED INTO THE COMMUNITY AND WORK WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS TO STRENGTHEN FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES IN ORDER TO KEEP YOUTH SAFELY AT HOME, REDUCE THE USE OF OUT OF HOME (CONGREGATE CARE) PLACEMENTS, AND FACILITATE TIMELY DISCHARGES (PERMANENCY) WHEN PLACEMENT IS NEEDED. AS OF JUNE 30, 2020, CUA 1 WAS SERVING OVER 528 FAMILIES AND MORE THAN 1,160 CHILDREN. CUA 7 WAS SERVING OVER 546 FAMILIES AND 1,178 CHILDREN. THE MAJORITY OF FAMILIES (52%) WERE ABLE TO CARE FOR THEIR CHILDREN AT HOME WHILE 48% WERE PLACEMENT CASES.
