The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes as allowed by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, including, for such purposes, identifying, researching, analyzing, and pursuing solutions to problems of consumer protection, environmental preservation, corporate and governmental responsibility, and other issues affecting the social welfare of the people of Pennsylvnia and the nation, and to cooperate with other public interest groups.
PennEnvironment is dedicated to protecting our air, water and open spaces. Weinvestigate problems, craft solutions, educate the public and decision-makers and help the public make their voices heard in local, state and national debates over the quality of our environment.
Researching and influencing public policy: staff engage in non-legislative activities including research, education, and legal and policy development on the following issues: promoting renewable energy strategies, cleaning up our waterways and banning toxic pesticides used in food production.
Public education and outreach services: recruiting volunteers, distributingeducational literature, conducting surveys and discussing issues with the publicreaching thousands citizens each year on the following issues: promoting renewable energy strategies, cleaning up our waterways and banning toxic pesticides used in food production.
