THE TWO-YEAR NEUBAUER FELLOWSHIP INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM COMPONENTS: - AN INTENSIVE SIX-DAY SUMMER INSTITUTE IN YEAR 1. - QUARTERLY INSTITUTES TO BUILD CAPACITY IN PERSONAL, ORGANIZATIONAL, AND INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP - 1-ON-1 COACHING TO SUPPORT STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION AND LEADERSHIP GROWTH - OPPORTUNITIES TO HOST AND VISIT OTHER FELLOWS' SCHOOLS - INTIMATE "DINNERS WITH DECISION-MAKERS" WITH PROMINENT BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, AND NONPROFIT LEADERS WHO FACE COMPLEX, UNPREDICTABLE CHALLENGES AS A FORMAT TO LEARN LEADERSHIP LESSONS FROM OTHER FIELDS - A $5,000 STIPEND OVER THE TWO YEARS OF THE FELLOWSHIP - A MATCHING GRANT TOTALING $25,000 TO SUPPORT SCHOOL-BASED PROJECTS THAT FOSTER COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPSTHE NEUBAUER FELLOWSHIP SERVES 128 SCHOOL AND SYSTEM LEADERS WHO SERVE OVER 100,000 STUDENTS EVERY DAY. SCHOOLS LED BY NEUBAUER FELLOWS OUTPERFORMED AND SHOWED HIGHER GAINS COMPARED TO OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE DISTRICT. FELLOW-LED SCHOOLS DEMONSTRATED: - CONSISTENT OUTPERFORMANCE AND LARGER IMPROVEMENTS ON STATE TESTS - LARGER STUDENT ACADEMIC GROWTH - GREATER ACADEMIC GAINS WITH BLACK AND LATINX STUDENTS - HIGHER STUDENT ATTENDANCE RATES AND MORE THAN 3X THE GROWTH IN STUDENT ATTENDANCE NEUBAUER FELLOWS MAKE UP ONE-THIRD OF THE CITY'S PRINCIPALS, YET REPRESENT FAR MORE THAN A PROPORTIONATE AMOUNT OF THE AWARDS AND RECOGNITION. ACCORDING TO SCHOOL PROGRESS REPORTS RELEASED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, FELLOWS LEAD 83% OF THE CITY'S HIGH-PERFORMING SCHOOLS AND 60% OF THE SCHOOLS MAKING GREATEST GROWTH. OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS, FELLOWS RECEIVED 69% OF LINDBACK AWARDS FOR DISTINGUISHED PRINCIPALS AND LED SEVEN OF THE TEN PHILADELPHIA SCHOOLS THAT RECEIVED THE PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON DISTINCTION.ANCHORED BY THE NEUBAUER FELLOWSHIP, SCHOOL LEADERS DEVELOPED A CONTINUUM OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMING TO SHEPHERD AND SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL LEADERS FROM SCHOOL TO SYSTEM LEADERSHIP ROLES:- THE LEADERS OF LEADERS PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE SUCCESS OF NEUBAUER SENIOR FELLOWS (ALUMNI) WHO ARE PROMOTED TO SYSTEM LEADERSHIP POSITIONS BEYOND THE PRINCIPALSHIP (E.G., ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT, CHARTER CEO). THE PROGRAM INCLUDES CAPACITY BUILDING SESSIONS FOCUSED ON EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP, DIFFERENTIATED COACHING, STRATEGIES TO SUPERVISE AND SUPPORT MANAGERS OF OTHERS, AND CONSULTANCIES AROUND PROBLEMS OF PRACTICE. IT ALSO INCORPORATES INDIVIDUAL IN-PERSON AND ON-SITE COACHING TO IMPROVE SENIOR LEADER PRACTICE.- THE PERFORMANCE PARTNERS PROGRAM MATCHES HIGHLY EFFECTIVE NEUBAUER SENIOR FELLOWS TO SERVE AS COACHES FOR PRINCIPALS WHO DEMONSTRATE STRONG POTENTIAL TO BE SELECTED FOR A FUTURE NEUBAUER FELLOWSHIP COHORT. THE PROGRAM HELPS PRINCIPALS BUILD COACHING SKILLS TO GIVE FEEDBACK THAT IMPROVES TEACHER PRACTICE AND STUDENT OUTCOMES. PARTICIPANTS WORK INDIVIDUALLY WITH SENIOR NEUBAUER FELLOWS OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR WHO PROVIDE COACHING AND SUPPORT TO REACH THEIR GOALS. SIMULTANEOUSLY, COACHES RECEIVE TRAINING ON EFFECTIVE COACHING PRACTICES THAT THEY CAN APPLY WITH BOTH THEIR PERFORMANCE PARTNER AND THEIR OWN STAFF.
