PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAMS: PHILADELPHIA FUTURES' DIRECT SERVICE PROGRAMS (SPONSOR-A-SCHOLAR FOUNDED IN 1990 AND COLLEGE CONNECTION LAUNCHED IN 2013) PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE ARRAY OF SERVICES AND RESOURCES TO REMOVE THE BARRIERS THAT HAVE TRADITIONALLY PREVENTED LOW-INCOME, FIRST-GENERATION-TO-COLLEGE STUDENTS FROM ACHIEVING COLLEGE SUCCESS. OUR PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAMS SERVE STUDENTS ATTENDING PHILADELPHIA PUBLIC, PUBLIC CHARTER AND PAROCHIAL HIGH SCHOOLS. OUR PRE-COLLEGE PROGRAMS OFFER (I) YEAR-ROUND ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT; (II) PERSONALIZED COLLEGE GUIDANCE; (III) FINANCIAL INCENTIVES; (IV) EXTRACURRICULAR CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES; (V) GENDER-SPECIFIC PROGRAMMING; AND (VI) INDIVIDUALIZED STAFF SUPPORT.

COLLEGE SUCCESS SERVICES: PHILADELPHIA FUTURES' COLLEGE SUCCESS SERVICES PROVIDE STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN OUR DIRECT SERVICE PROGRAMS (SPONSOR-A-SCHOLAR AND COLLEGE CONNECTION) WITH INDIVIDUALIZED COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE THROUGH COLLEGE. IN ADDITION TO STAFF SUPPORT, COLLEGIANS RECEIVE FUNDS FOR COLLEGE RELATED EXPENSES, CAREER COUNSELING AND A CONNECTION TO INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH PHILADELPHIA FUTURES' CAREER FUTURES INITIATIVE. COLLEGE STAFF ALSO SUPPORT OUR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH A RANGE OF COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.

OUTREACH FUTURES: PHILADELPHIA FUTURES' OUTREACH FUTURES INITIATIVE BRINGS THE ORGANIZATION'S SERVICES AND EXPERTISE TO THE BROADER COMMUNITY. OUTREACH FUTURES OFFERS A RANGE OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO STUDENTS, FAMILIES AND YOUTH-SERVING PROFESSIONALS THROUGHOUT PHILADELPHIA. A KEY COMPONENT OF PHILADELPHIA FUTURES' OUTREACH SERVICES IS THE ANNUAL PUBLICATION OF STEP UP TO COLLEGE: PHILADELPHIA'S GUIDE TO THE COLLEGE PREPARATION, APPLICATION AND ADMISSIONS AND FINANCIAL AID PROCESSES. COPIES OF THE GUIDE ARE DISTRIBUTED TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND THE FREE LIBRARY OF PHILADELPHIA WITHOUT COST TO REMOVE ANY BARRIERS TO ACCESS. CONTENT FROM THE GUIDE ALSO IS AVAILABLE THROUGH DIGITAL MEDIA.
