Organizations Filed Purposes: GUIDED BY CHRISTIAN VALUES, THE MISSION OF THE PHILADELPHIA PROTESTANT HOME IS TO PROVIDE A CARING SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY THAT AFFORDS ITS RESIDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACHIEVE THEIR HIGHEST POSSIBLE QUALITY OF LIFE.

OPERATE A CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY PROVIDING HOUSING AND HEALTHCARE TO RESIDENTS.

THE PHILADELPHIA PROTESTANT HOME (PPH) IS A CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY WHICH PROVIDES HOUSING, HEALTHCARE, PERSONAL CARE AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES TO ELDERLY RESIDENTS. PPH OPERATES A 126 BED NURSING FACILITY OF WHICH 119 WERE OCCUPIED IN 2019; 175 PERSONAL CARE UNITS, 23 OF WHICH ARE DEDICATED TO ALZHEIMER'S OR DEMENTIA RELATED DISEASE (149 WERE OCCUPIED IN 2019); AND 256 INDEPENDENT LIVING APARTMENTS, OF WHICH 211 WERE OCCUPIED AND AMONG WHOM WERE 66 LOW INCOME TENANTS. OCCUPANCY RATES FOR NURSING, PERSONAL CARE AND INDEPENDENT LIVING WERE 94.49%, 85.06% AND 80.97%, RESPECTIVELY. IN 2019, BENEVOLENT OR FREE CARE WAS PROVIDED IN OUR PERSONAL CARE FACILITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $485,534 TO RESIDENTS WHO LACKED ADEQUATE FINANCIAL RESOURCES. THE NURSING FACILITY IS AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PROGRAMS AND IN 2019 62.32% OF THE NURSING HOME DAYS WERE FOR THESE TWO PROGRAMS. PPH ALSO MEASURES ITS SUCCESS IN TERMS OF WHAT IT CONTRIBUTES TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. WE PROVIDE COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES THROUGH A PROGRAM FOR ELIGIBLE SENIORS WHO WISH TO REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES. THIS INCLUDES PROVIDING 2,327 MEALS THROUGH THE NORTHEAST MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM TO SENIORS IN OUR COMMUNITY IN 2019. WE PROVIDE SPACE FOR MEETINGS AND EVENTS FREE OF CHARGE TO COMMUNITY, CHURCH, AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS. PPH PARTICIPATES IN LOCAL COMMUNITY AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS AND TAKES A LEADERSHIP ROLE IN COMMUNITY DISASTER PLANNING. THE COMMUNITY IS INVITED TO ATTEND FREE EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS ON AGING, SUMMER CONCERTS, AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. WE ARE A TRAINING SITE FOR HEALTH EDUCATION SEMINARS, LOW VISION AND HEARING LOSS SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS, VETERANS GROUP MEETINGS, AND ACTIVITIES AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS, INCLUDING A FITNESS CENTER AND AQUATICS PROGRAM.
