COMMUNICATION AND MEMBER SERVICES : PHILANTHROPY NETWORK SERVED MEMBERS, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, CIVIC LEADERS, POLICYMAKERS AND THE MEDIA WITH AN ARRAY OF COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES, SUPPLYING INFORMATION ABOUT IDEAS, TRENDS AND DEVELOPMENTS IN LOCAL AND NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY. COMMUNICATIONS VEHICLES INCLUDED: 1) A WEBSITE WITH REGULAR UPDATES OF NEWS, EVENTS, RESOURCES AND MEMBER DIRECTORY LISTINGS; 2) A MONTHLY MEMBERS' UPDATE - EMAILED 12 TIMES A YEAR TO OVER 1,000 INDIVIDUALS REPRESENTING MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS; 3) A TWITTER FEED TO SHARE IDEAS AND RESOURCES WITH MEMBERS AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS IN THE REGION. NETWORK STAFF ALSO CONTINUED TO SUPPORT MEMBERS WITH CUSTOMIZED RESEARCH AND OTHER SERVICES TO RESPOND TO THEIR INFORMATION NEEDS.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: PHILANTHROPY NETWORK OFFERED 34 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, WORKSHOPS, TELECONFERENCES AND WEBINARS ON DIVERSE TOPICS INCLUDING ARTS, EDUCATION, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, WOMEN AND GIRLS' ISSUES, FOOD SYSTEMS AND FAMILY PHILANTHROPY. AS A CONTINUATION OF PHILANTHROPY NETWORK'S EQUITY IN PHILANTHROPY INITIATIVE, THE ORGANIZATION LAUNCHED AN EQUITY COHORT IN WHICH 12 PARTICIPATING FOUNDATIONS COMMITTED TO A YEAR-LONG DEEP DIVE INTO INSTITUTIONALIZING THEIR ORGANIZATIONS' COMMITMENT TO EQUITY. PHILANTHROPY NETWORK'S MAJOR EDUCATIONAL AND NETWORKING EVENTS OF THE YEAR WERE THE SPARX CONFERENCE ATTENDED BY OVER 400 PHILANTHROPIC, NONPROFIT AND GOVERNMENT LEADERS, AND AN ANNUAL MEMBERS' MEETING ATTENDED BY OVER 100 GRANTMAKERS. BOTH EVENTS FEATURED PROMINENT NATIONAL AND LOCAL SPEAKERS WHO INFORMED AND INSPIRED ATTENDEES TO SHARE INFORMATION AND EMPLOY PHILANTHROPIC PRACTICES AIMED AT STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES. COMBINED, THE NETWORK'S PROGRAMS ATTRACTED MORE THAN 1,500 PARTICIPANTS.
