YOUTH POWER IS OUR CORE VALUE. BY ENGAGING AS ENTREPRENEURS ON A MISSION TO INCREASE ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOODS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND SCHOOLS, REBEL VENTURES' HIGH SCHOOL CREW MEMBERS OWN THE TASK OF DRIVING THIS WORK. REBEL VENTURES AUTHENTICALLY ENGAGES WITH YOU, WHO EXPERIENCE THEIR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AS A TRANSFORMATIVE AND EMPOWERING FORCE THEMSELVES, AS WELL AS SHARING THIS ENERGY WITH THEIR PEERS THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN HISTORICALLY MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES.
REBEL VENTURES ENGAGED SEVENTEEN LOW-INCOME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN MEANINGFUL ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION IN 2019. THESE STUDENTS LEARNED ENTREPRENEURSHIP BY BEING ENTREPRENEURS. THEY PARTICIPATED IN NUMEROUS ACTIVITIES INCLUDING DEVELOPING AND MARKETING NEW HEALTHY FOOD PRODUCTS, PRESENTING AND LEADING THE FIRST ANNUAL CITY-WIDE YOUTH-ENTREPRENEURSHIP SHOWCASE, AND LEADING BUSINESS MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS.
THE REBEL VENTURES HIGH SCHOOL CREW CONDUCTED RIGOROUS HEALTHY FOOD RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT BY CREATING AND PILOTING OUR REBEL MARKET PROJECT WHILE CONTINUING OUR DISTRIBUTION OF REBEL CRUMBLES TO KIDS AS PART OF SCHOOL BREAKFAST.
REBEL VENTURES INITIATED SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS THROUGH TWO PROGRAMS KNOWN AS "REBEL CHAMPS AND "COMMUNITY DINNERS." THESE FOOD EDUCATION ACTIVITIES FOCUS ON YOUTH-DRIVEN HEALTHY SCHOOL CREATION. REBEL CHAMPS GIVES ELEMENTARY STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROMOTE HEALTHY DELICIOUSNESS TO THEIR PEERS DURING BREAKFAST. ADDITIONALLY WE RAN A PROGRAM KNOWN AS COMMUNITY DINNERS AT MURRELL DOBBINS CTE HIGH SCHOOL. THIS IS A BI-MONTHLY PROGRAM THAT EMPLOYS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND DIRECTLY ENGAGES THEM IN THE CREATION OF A BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY MEAL SERVING THE DOBBINS COMMUNITY.
