THE PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF STEAMFITTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 420 OF THE UNITED ASSOCIATION OF JOURNEYMEN AND APPRENTICES OF THE PLUMBING AND PIPEFITTING INDUSTRY OF THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA IS TO ELEVATE THE TRADES OF STEAMFITTING/PIPEFITTING INCLUDING HEATING, VENTILATION, AIR CONDITIONING, INSTRUMENT CALIBRATION, VALVE REPAIR, ENERGY MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE AND TO ASSIST ITS MEMBERS IN SECURING AND STABILIZING EMPLOYMENT. THE UNION REPRESENTS STEAMFITTERS IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH EMPLOYERS IN THE PHILADELPHIA AREA AND THE GREATER LEHIGH VALLEY IN PENNSYLVANIA. THE LOCAL LABOR UNION CONSISTS OF APPROXIMATELY 4,500 MEMBERS INCLUDING RETIREES.
