WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY PERSON DESERVES SHELTER,FOOD,CLOTHING,TRANSPORTATION,ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE AND RESPECTFUL HUMAN INTERACTION.

ORION COMMUNITIES, INC.(ORION) OFFERS HOPE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING HARDSHIP DUE TO POVERTY, DISABILITY, OR ILLNESS BY BUILDING BRIDGES THAT LEAD TO SELF-RELIANCE.IN 2019, ORION SERVED NEARLY 4,000 PEOPLE TO SECURE LIFE'S BASIC ESSENTIALS.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE - AFTER AN ASSESSMENT OF NEEDS AND RESOURCES,CRITICAL FUNDS MAY ASSIST THOSE WHO ARE UNDER-RESOURCED.THERE ARE THREE POOLS OF FUNDS:1 - THE COMMUNITY EMERGENCY FUND PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR CRITICAL SITUATIONS TO ASSIST WITH LIFE'S BASIC NEEDS OR TO KEEP CLIENTS FROM CATASTROPHIC LOSSES. IN 2019, ORION PROVIDED $85,000 IN EMERGENCY FUNDS TO STABILIZE OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED.2 - THE PLAN PROGRAM ALLOCATES FUNDS TO ASSIST WITH PROVISIONAL LODGING TO BRIDGE THOSE WHO ARE HOMELESS TO PERMANENT HOUSING. IN 2019,34 FAMILIES WERE STABILY HOUSED.3- RESTRICTED USE FUND ARE MONIES RECEIVED FOR LIMITED AND SPECIFIC PURPOSES SUCH AS LOCAL VETERAN NEED OR SUMMER CAMP FOR CHILD-CARE.FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT PROVIDES ONE ON ONE BUDGET COACHING.

BRIDGE CASE MANAGEMENT IS THE TEMPORARY OR INTERIM PROVISION OF SHORT-TERM CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO ASSIST IN A PERIOD OF TRANSITION, CRISIS OR CHANGE. ORION'S CLIENTS MAY BE HOMELESS, HUNGRY, IN DANGER OF EVICTION OR HAVING THEIR UTILITIES TURNED OFF. IN THESE SITUATIONS, A PERMANENT CASE MANAGER MAY BE UNNECESSARY OR DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE ON SHORT NOTICE. IN 2019, ORION COMMUNITIES ASSISTED 1,531 HOUSEHOLDS OR INDIVIDUALS WITH THEIR IMMEDIATE NEED FOR LIFE'S BASIC ESSENTIALS; 200 OF THESE HOUSEHOLDS WERE HOMELESS FOR PART OR ALL OF THE YEAR.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH IS AN ENDEAVOR THAT ASSESSES NEEDS, DEVELOPS STRATEGIES, AND PROVIDES SERVICES THAT WILL FILL THE GAPS TO IN-NEED AND AT RISK POPULATIONS. COMMUNITY OUTREACH ALSO RAISES COMMUNITY AWARENESS AND DEVELOPS A COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS PROVIDE AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE EXISTING SERVICES. PHOENIXVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL SUCCESSFULLY CREATED THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING TASK FORCE PETITIONED BY ORION AND SIGNED BY 13 PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TO ADDRESS THE SHRINKING POOL OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR OUR MOST VULNERABLE NEIGHBORS. IN 2018, THE BOROUGH, DEVELOPERS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS HAVE TAKEN UP IMPLEMENTATION AND PRIORITIZATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS TO INCREASE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW INCOME, ELDERLY AND FINANCIALLY CHALLENGED FAMILIES.
