Organizations Filed Purposes:
BCAPs mission is to ensure a high quality of life for all members of the Bhutanese community in Pittsburgh and to support their integration into American society through culturally-informed services and activities.
During the year, the Organization accomplished the following major goals, in furtherance of its exempt purpose:1) Provided over 1120 hours of Citizenship Preparation classes to over 120 applicants at 7 different locations.2) Assisted 128, 34, and 15 applicants with their N-400, N-600, and I-485 applications respectively.3) Provided, in collaboration with partner organization, back to school shopping to 125 K-5 graders.4) Provided After School Homework help and Mentoring to 12 Elementary school children5) Engaged 45 families in Community Gardening activities that generated hundreds of pounds of fresh vegetables and a means of meaningful engagement and sense of purpose to seniors.6) Provided Mental Health First Aid sessions to about 50 individuals7) Conducted bi-weekly women support group sessions benefitting over 70 women8) Conducted numerous youth support and mentoring sessions round the year9) Organized voters registration drives
