Organizations Filed Purposes:
To support the development of the profession of sustainability and the professionals who work in the field primarily through the facilitation of professional networks, the creation and maintenance of professional materials and resources, and the education and training of members of the sustainability profession.
Provide education and professional development opportunities for sustainability professionals. In FY2016-17: a)Held five month-long courses , three two-week courses, and one week-long course and 2 on-demand courses, reaching 393 professionals. b)Held 12 professional development webinars attended by 652 professionals.
Create, store, and disseminate information relevant to the sustainability profession Educational Materials. a)Produced two publications and a set of flashcards that define the Sustainability Professionals Body of Knowledge. b)Engaged more than 30 subject matter expert volunteers from 10 countries in drafting these publications, which were distributed to 391 professionals during the period. c)Published 12 monthly newsletters serving an average of 10,000 readers with articles of a variety of sustainability topics. d)Held monthly webinars on the knowledge, skills and abilities needed by sustainability professionals with an average of 61 registrants per month.
Provide networking opportunities for sustainability professionals through local chapters, member webinars and conferences. a)Held local chapter events in New York, Washington, DC, Portland, Colorado, Hartford, CT, and Calgary b)42 volunteers acted as Ambassadors reaching out to new members to introduce them to other sustainability professionals in the ISSP network. c)Held twelve virtual new member webinars with an average of 11 registrants and six existing member on-line meetings with an average of 6 registrants.
