Together, communities of color and their white working class neighbors ran local campaigns on issues of justice and equity. In Erie, PA United worked to ensure that new development projects prioritize transparency, community benefits, living wages, and local and minority hiring. In Beaver County, PA United won a Ban the Box campaign, ensuring that people no longer have to disclose their criminal history when applying for County jobs. In Washington County, PA United partnered with local groups to challenge wealth inequality and racial discrimination and lift up critical issues around environmental and economic justice. PA United members worked tirelessly to shift the narrative toward the fight for affordable healhcare, union jobs, and fully funding our public schools. This year, and every year, PA United fights for a Pennsylvania that benefits all people, not just a few.
